USA...USA...USA....
Go REAL Football
J/K...it pretty fun...many people don't like it because it is not like traditional American sports...like tackleing people, hiting people, and breaking all sorts of stuff like Football(US) and hockey.
A few reasons actually.
1. All the violence it causes. I mean its a football game ffs, what the hell is the point in getting into a street brawl because someone likes a team. Quite probably the most pathetic reason to be violent next to hitting women to make you feel impowered. And people have actually been murdered over it, its crazy. If you like the game, fair enough but wanting to fight people because they wear a red shirt and not a blue one is just insane. Lock them all up, no questions asked.
2. Being from Scotland and in Scotland you get it crammed down your throat constantly, when its the on-season its on tv all the time, when its off-season, people are talking about what it was like, is like and will be like and its pretty damn boring.
3. The one and only professional footballer i know, i didn't really care for, however i did beat him at the game once.
4.All the fuss people go to over which direction a little leather ball goes in. I'm not saying don't enjoy the game, but if you are just watching it, don't scream and shout like it makes a difference. you just look like a fool.
Thats all i can think of now. I had more when i started but forgot them during my rant...
WAAAY too boring. 1-0 scores just don't do it for me.VetteMan85It can be spun the other way, in that the goals are more meaningful.

You can spin it any way you want. Here in the States, we like scoring and lots of it.
[QUOTE="jakeboudville"]What does that make me if I say I do like it?VetteMan85
Boring and lame...just like soccer.
To me..baseball is boring..just like American football..Golf is better than both that sports. It can be spun the other way, in that the goals are more meaningful.[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"][QUOTE="VetteMan85"]WAAAY too boring. 1-0 scores just don't do it for me.VetteMan85

Well, my experience of american sports wasn't great. I saw a baseball game live, and it was 2-0. That's like a football score but there wasn't much going on other than a lot of strikes. One year I tried to watch the superbowl. I found that most of the game was spent not playing the game. >_>WAAAY too boring. 1-0 scores just don't do it for me.VetteMan85
Personally i think a lot of that is to do with the size of the pitch. I mean its way way to big. Basketball has score of 90s and 100s and is very fast-paced and constantly moving. During the end of our school year the teachers let you choose what you want to do for Gym. A lot of people picked Football where as i picked Basketball, now by no means was i even remotely athletic at the time, but i put in about 500% more than i should have in that game, even got injured and kept playing. By the end of it the sweat was dripping off me since i had been running back and forward for about 3 hours and the class was over, went to the changing rooms and started getting changed back into my school gear when the football players walked in and looked like they had basically been sitting around for 3 hours, some of them never even got a chance to play because there were so many ball hogs and they said they had a good game with their score being 3-2 or something, when just me alone had scored like 32 baskets or something....
Well this was quite a rant, never actually meant it to go on this long. You know what, don't bother reading it, its nothing important...come to think of it if you read this far you must have read it...oh well...
I played it for 7 years and just quit this year because it was getting in the way of tennis. I dont like soccer because if your playing atleast 90% of the time your not going to be kicking it or whatever. And if you do, youll probably pass it in less than 10 seconds.
With Tennis, its constant game and you dont have to rely on other people. Also, tennis takes more patience and skill than soccer. Im sorry if you think soccer takes more skill, but sadly if you do, your wrong. And I hate it how people say soccer is the best sport in the world because most people play it. The reason of that is because many pros are from poor countries and thats all they can aford to do and its free.
1. The field is too big. Shrink it down to about 1/4 size it it might be intresting
2. The players take the worst dives ever. You tap them on a shoulder and the go down throbbing the shoulder in pain. Sean Avery can dive better than any soccer player.

I guess I'll go against the grain here and say I actually watch baseball because I want to. I find it very interesting, not horribly boring.

Im American. And I LOVE baseball.
Oh, and I have no respect for soccer because players fall down and whine at the slightest things. I once saw a game where a guy went down on a routine play with what the trainer said was "A severe knee injury, possibly ACL" only to have the guy be magically healed with 5 minutes left in the game, and return to score the winning goal.
I do have respect for Zidane however. That was the greatest headbutt ever.

The ratings speak much more on the matter than I ever could. Baseball is not even CLOSE to football in the ratings. You watch a baseball game on TV and the stands are empty. Lastly, every year, baseball rating continue to sink while football and basketball continue to grow.

That is very true. There is no doubt that football is the most popular sport in America. Massively popular. No other sport even comes close. But that doesnt mean that there arent a lot of people who watch it. WhereI live, football is THIRD behind #1 baseball and #2 hockey
