Why do you Play! What are Video Games to you.

Hey guys, I'm doing a project for school and I need to describe why people play video games. I will also put my own reasons but I need to have the reason of others, So who better to ask then the video gamers themselves. My questions are basic.....Why do you play video games? What is it that draws you to them? Is it the pure entertainment value that you can't get elsewhere? Or is it the challange that they provide? Whatver it is describe it the best way that you can. Thx for your help!

How far up did the mods stick the pole?

I havent been playing much of anything aside from Rock Band 2.

Why do I play video games? Because they keep me busy. Theyre an escape from reality. Ive been going through a little bit of a hard time this past week, so Ive been playing alot of Rock Band to keep me busy and I seem to play better if Im upset :lol:

What is it that draws me to them? I just think theyre a great way to let off some steam. C'mon, blowing someones head off and imagining its my girlfriends mother in Gears of War? Nice! x) Also just to do something when Im bored.

I dont think that movies and music exact the same amount of entertainment since Im actually playing and controlling my character if thats what you mean.

Sometimes the challange of Rock Band annoys me, with the later songs. I downloaded the Disturbed songs, and I just was able to complete Inside The Fire this week, by myself :lol: I like it when I have a goal to progress to. Whether its doing good on my upcoming SAT, passing Drivers Ed in December, or just getting past a tricky solo in Rock Band x)

Pretty far actually. I have trouble moving around sometimes, and recently, I haven't even been able to sit down.

Playing a good game is a lot more to me than watching a good movie.

Well Fisrt of all I play video games because There Fun And I love them.. I LOOOOOVE THEM.

Because they're fun, and deopending on the type of game, I can make it look like a movie, compared to how my friends play

I play because I'm bored. Videogames bore me too these days. I'll buy a new game and get sick of it way too fast. I always end up playing Gears of War.nickyb628

Take Eragon for example... Awesome book... Horrible terrible disgusting game/movie.

The sense of influence over a world, the feeling of accomplishment, the immersive story and consequently the satisfaction of escapism from a mundane life is what I believe draws us towards video games.
