Over other gaming websites?

Easy forum layout. Very simple and clean. They at one time had the best reviews around.senses_fail_06
Couldnt have said it better. WhenI joined (and prior) the reviews were great. Now its just all bias and nitpicking rants.
Well I visit multiple sites but gamespot is my favorite due to its easy controls. Plus other similar sites have a lot more ads then gamespot does and they don't make multiple shows each week like TOTS for its users. The forums on here are pretty good too since they actually keep their's moderated.
I like the forum layout and community. But as for reviews, I think they started going downhill since Greg left.gamertylers
I like the entire site; however, I would wish they would mend fences and lure Gerstmann back. Microsoft did it with former employees being re-hired, so can any business. They even got Mark Russinovich to return: he's one of the top Windows Gurus.
I don't know. This is pretty much the first video game site I ever went to and it just stuck with me.Nerd_Man
Yeah, same here.
Forums and community are good

This. I like the diversity. I hate the PG rating imposed by the mods though. I feel thoroughly censored here.
The forums mostly. I used to love the reviews here, but recently they are so slow to release(Except for the major titles), so i vist GTor ign instead. I also liked the old reviewers better, though Kevin V is ok.
And for news too i guess, but even so its the forums(SW) that gets it the fastest.
videogames.com was my first gaming site. i use other sites such as ign and 1up for reviews, but gamespot is the only one where i keep up on the forums. I think the reason why i keep coming back is because it is so user friendly. from navigation to unobtrisive ads this place is great.

There are a lot of good posters here (though there are 10 bad posters and 50 unremarkable posters for every good poster), and I feel like the community in general is more civil than in other forums, possibly due to strict moderating.
But as a gaming site I don't really care about it. I only pay attention to GS reviews because of SW.
The website layout is clean, understandable, and easily navigated, the forums are always active and alive (unlike some gaming sites I've seen), the people that work here (the mods, reviewers, and everyone) all seem nice, plus the GS community generally feels more polite and nice than other communities.
No idea, I came here first and didn't leave for other places. Well except for *cough Giantbomb cough* for like a very short week, then returned.

Yeah I'm with you. I remember back in 03-04 I'd always rely on GS's reviews. Not the only games I like are ones they seem to give sixes and sevens. This is the first public forum I have ever been a part of. I randomly chose this site a while back to get some patches for a game of mine, and stumbled into this land of magic and wonder I have come to know as OT :)
Ive been posting ever since!
I prefer it because i've gotten to know about the people that work there watching "On The Spot" and some of their other shows. Most of them have been there for a long time, watched them over the years and watched how the industry has changed and they have adapted and they are for real. I am also a old gamer and have experienced similair changes in this industry and feel like i relate. Also they have people from all over the world at this site and it's good to know others and their opinions in such games and great forum topics, like having actual conversations. Great place to be.
