I finally splunged down the money for one of the new iPod nanos. Great looking machine.

One MAJOR problem with it, just like generation 3. YOU HAVE to use itunes to move music. Itunes is one of the worst players as far as creating albums, and recognizing albums, in the market. Now sure, if you use itunes to rip and download every album you own, its not so bad. But think of it like this. It can't find album art for black sabbath and chicago albums, but it can for tenchu 2 soundtracks? Explain that. Can't even use your own created folders for songs. Now this is all on windows, so I'm not sure how it all works in the macs.

Even the psp is so much easier to use though. Open psp music folder- drag folders with songs into said folder, and BAM! Finished. Just like any other mp3 player.

Now the ipod, you have to first download itunes *Which, speaking of that, what if you don't have internet? YOU CAN'T USE THE Ipod WITHOUT SOME HACK!*, import all your songs into it, rename all you songs and folders, so itunes can actually recognize where the song is supposed to be, wait the long wait for itunes to see how long it takes for the next song to start, AND THEN sync it with the ipod. That sync parts a doozy.

My guess is that if you're listening to Black Sabbath, Chicago, and Tenchu 2 Soundtracks you need to start branching out. Try listening to music.SuperBallsBerg

Good choice on Apple's behalf. People are getting dumber every day and any useless complexity, no matter how small is welcome. It puts your brain to work.

Actually, that part of it has stayed the same. It's just tricky because of all the shank between formats. Try to "Protagonist" then "Antagonist" next time.

I think Apple is just trying to lock you into using all their hardware and software : ) I find iTunes a pain to use also. I admit that I'm not the smartest person in the world, but Apple is supposed to be the most user-friendly technology company out there : )

Hmm... well if you find iTunes difficult to use then... I'm not even sure how you tie your shoes or take dumps in the correct place.

i agree.

and for the album art work bit, why dont you just google image search the album and copy and paste the image into itunes where it says ''insert album artwork'' for that album. shouldnt take more than a minute

You do not have to use iTunes to transfer songs to an iPod. There are many, many alternatives to iTunes that will do the job. On windows you have Foobar2000, Winamp, Songbird, Yamipod, Amarok, Floola, MediaMonkey, etc. A simple google search for iTunes alternatives will give you a nice list.

I don't mind iTunes at all, even though I do not use it barely at all. I have to agree though that the user interface on the new iPods just keeps getting harder to use, that circle on the bottom that you use to control the menus is just plain hard to use imo. This is why I use a Creative ZEN because the menus are very simple to navigate through and the buttons are laid out in an easy to use way.

I use Media Monkey, it's easier. Anyways, the only reason I'm still keeping my iPod on life support is because it's nice to have one in my car. I bought a custom iPod stereo for it about a year and a half ago, and I love it. For normal use though, I'd go with a Zune any day.
