Why does Finland like Conan so much?

Because he looks like Finland's president Tarja Halonen. He did a big series of specials on the matter a while back.

because they're busy listening to Children of Bodom, Nightwish, Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Wintersun, Norther, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Turisas, and all the other finnish music that is better than HIM :P

i remember that episode :P Conans trip to Finland was awesome :D

I knew about this from the start, and in fact I saw the episode where he did the joke. But I never guessed that that's the whole reason they're obsessed with Conan. There's gotta be something else too. camreeno360

I did a little digging and it appears that it may just be good distribution. On some of the sites I visited there were several comments from people from all over Europe expressing a desire to watch Conan over the usual bunch of junk they get from the states and they were envious that Conan was broadcast 5 nights a week in Finland and not in their country. Go Finland!

I made a discovery that they have Jerry Springer all over Europe. Wow, talk about loads of crappy images of the US going through their heads after watching an episode of that. :P It's terrible.camreeno360

That reminds me of the time that my friend's teacher from Japan was stunned to find out that none of the students carried or owned any guns. Apparently a lot of the world is sure we're just walking around getting into gunfights all the time. But maybe if Schwarzenegger has his way he will make us THE NUMBER ONE ACTION STATE IN THE U.S. and her misguided dreams will become reality.

I don't know if they love Conan but they love coffee and metal music and beer
