its great, i just hate how America think they made it better maccer101I personally have never seen the UK version of the Office, but I don't think I would like it as much, because I am so attached to the US versions characters.
the office kicks major a** one of the best shows on TV today. i think pam is really hot. in a cute nerdy secreatary sort of way.bluntmastaslayaI think you might like this then.
It's the opposite in Seattle. I'm pretty sure everyone watches The Office and are some form of psuedo-intellectual. Anyways, I hate the show. It's really unfunny, stupid, boring, etc.GodLovesDead
hell yeah we do

Can anyone tell me what's funny about The Office?GodLovesDeadWell I personally think what makes it so funny is the characters, like I said Dwight is my favorite, and the things he says ALWAYS crack me up.

Well, assuming the US version is similar to the UK version, it accuratly portrays office life in a humourous way which can be appreciated by anyone involved in that line of work.
Anyone who doesn't know what the office is check this out, really funny!

I get the office life part but I don't know about the humourous part. Every time I've seen it, it's just a character being really awkard, next scene, another character being awkward, then it cuts to one of those "interview" shots, and then it just repeats.
Uk version was pretty good I recently watched all of it. But I do prefer the characters the US version more, probably because over four seasons the development has been better. Since the UK version only got two seasons and both short seasons compared to the US version. The Office is very funny and should be watched.

Ricky and Steve hate shows over running their welcome. The show is still fresh and thats probably why it was so successful over here.
The same thing happened with Alan Partridge as well.

I can agree with that but I think over running your welcome is more then six seasons. That is if the show is still interesting enough to last that long. I definately could of seen a couple more seasons of The Office UK but the writers definately wrapped it up over the Christmas special.
I've been watching both versions and think UK series were more intense, realistic and melancholy.
The US series are good, but Ricky Gervais (the man behind the whole concept) makes for a more believable office manager.
I never understood the fascination with the show. As for the US version...it's not funny. The characters are for the most part annoying. Not the kind of people you'd want to work around. Steve Carrel is not funny as the boss...he's mean. I don't find any humor in that show. Maybe if Carrell was replaced.
I did see a couple episodes of the UK version....and I think it's better. Yes....some of the characters are annoying but they seem more realistic. And Ricky Gervais as the boss is not mean...more a fool.
So while I'd rather not watch the show...UK > US.
[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"]I love the UK version of the Office. I don't want to watch the US one just because I'm so fond of the characters though.kruesaderThe characters in the US are by far better IMO.
I find it to be the opposite.
