Why doesn't ShowTime get movies as good as HBO and Cinemax?

If they played the same shows frequently on all the stations then there wouldn't be a need for 3 premium movie channels, there would be just one:)

I guess HBO is just better known, and they have more people watching, which might have them think about putting better movies on.

I get what you're saying, but still. HBO and Cinemax always seem to show older movies that I enjoyed and never had the chance to see again.

Most people don't have the chance to see those networks since you need a special cable service to watch them. Like over here in TN you need Comcast digital cable to watch it....sooo expensive

It's not exactly cheap here in the U.S. either, too much for what they are worth IMO

I've got Time Warner Cable package that comes with the digital phone service and most of the channels including ShowTime, TMC, and Starz. However, HBO and Cinemax are both separate channels so they each cost an extra $12.95 a month.

I have the same cable provider, I know the prices and $12.95 is more than what those channels are worth:P

Did you mention Encore? They have like 7 channels, one for each genre.

The latest batch of original series on Showtime have been some of the most critically acclaimed in premium channel history.  HBO used to carry that title, but not anymore.

Maybe the movies they show are for an audience of a different taste from yours.

Eh I don't like HBO too much.  I can only watch King Kong so many times before I want a new channel.  Cinemax seems like it has very good movies though...I'm trying to convince my parents to make a switch haha.

HBO doesn't really have porn... it has documentaries on strippers and strip clubs though. I watch HBO for the boxing and sports specials.
