they are more expensive and rarer and less verstile than guns. also you need some kind of training to use one, but with a gun you just point and squeeze.

I don't think you'd need some kind of training if you were to attack a swordless burglar! You just swing it like a baseball bat.

I think that pretty much explains why. Swords are still very cool though, but that's it: Guns get the job done more efficiently.

if youre not trained to use a sword, youre very likely to hurt yourself trying to use it.

Its not a matter because it looks "awesome", its a matter of effectiveness. We don't go to battle to look cool, we certainly don't use weapons in war to look cool, we use weapons based on their effectiveness.

But we also like to look cool when using weapons. And I was only reccomending a sword for self-defense at home!

Hmm, I see. Like I said, its a matter of effectiveness so I am replying to your question. Maybe a baseball is cheaper then that $500 dollar sword and a baseball bat hurts like a *****. It delivers a good effectiveness and you dont have to pay as much. About your first comment, Yeah you look like a total bad*** at home holding your guns, try being that same bad*** when you're in the front lines haha

Bcoz it's alot harder and heavier to draw + you can't throw ur sword at someone 15 ft/+ away from you. and, guns are faster.

Someone mentioned you need training to use a sword, heres a beginners guide:

1, hold it by the handle PROTIP the handle is located opposite the pointy end and should not feel sharp.

2, poke (rapier) or hit (most other sword types) the person you wish to injure with the other end

3, ????

4, profit.

It'd be pretty scary to see someone charging with a sword at you in small spaces though.

Because unless you know how to USE a sword they aren't effective. Second swinging a sword around doesn't make any sense in close quarters. Third, I think I'll stick with my .45 on my nightstand thank you very much.

If I caught a burglar in my house I coudn't attack him with a sword because they are to violent. I would rather smash his head into the floor with a bat.8)

:| No of course not. Though I do go to the range every other week to practice and train myself. Also, firearms cost a hell of a lot more than swords.

You want to instill fear in someone then point a crossbow at them.

There is something terrifying about a crossbow. sure, guns may be quicker but a crossbow looks like it could accidentally go off at any second.

Hmmm, lets see.

You can use a sword, which has short length and average power. And really depends on the user's ability.

OOORRRRR

You can use a Barret 50 cal. , or maybe you can use a M16A2, or Ak-47.

I hate that indiana jones scene with the gun, so i found a reason why swords/blades can be better than guns by cutting bullets in half but i guess requires great luck and techniques but it would look cool.
