It is only logical that there are fewer soldiers from a wealthy backround because the wealthy are a minorty, so of course there are going to be less soldiers from a wealthy background. Also, there is not as much of an incentive for a wealthy kid to go join the military. They don't need help to go to college, which is a huge reason why kids join the military.
So no, I don't think it is wrong for the military to be composed of mostly low income/middle class families. They just have more of an incentive to join. We are all American's first, regardless of economic class, and there is more than one way of serving your country. If the U.S, god forbid, got itself into a WWIII-esque situation and had to reinstitute the draft, I doubt the majority of the rich would moan and whine about enlisting.
That's dumb to suggest that people who make "bad" grades join the military.because they don't want to maybe?
Or they went to private school and so got good grades and such

Just to make this clear.. My family is very close to the United States Military.
My Dad was in the Navy, His Brother was in the Army, His oldest brother died in Vietnam(my uncle). My Grandpa was also in the Army and Served in the Korean War in the 50's, and my Grandpas Brother was in the Air Force. My cousin served 3 years in Iraq.
The fact is in America the poor are more likely to be soldiers on the front lines than children of rich families. This isn't okay because the people who really control this country aren't willing to defened it at the expense of themselves. The middle class, and poor are just tools of the powerful.

I won't question the fact, but I will question your claim that it "isn't okay" when the military is comprised entirely of volunteers.
It only makes sense that more soldiers would come from the larger income group. It is only logical that there are fewer soldiers from a wealthy backround because the wealthy are a minorty, so of course there are going to be less soldiers from a wealthy background. A good example of someone wealthy serving, is Prince William. He was on the front lines in Afghanistan, serving with everyone else until a reporter pointed it out and put him in danger. I know that's UK but it's still similar.
edit: I didn't realize someone else beat me to it.

That was Harry, not William. Prince William is transferring to the Air Force and has never been in combat.

No one forces these people into the war. If they join it its their fault.
Â
and mabye the rich don't need to go to into the army. Look were they are at. What they have achieved and earned. Why should they? And the poor is also not forced into the army. They can do other jobs or other things.

Does anyone else think that it's wrong that the U.S. Military is made up of low income/middle class families? And told what to do by the rich aristrocrates? I think more of their children should have to serve in the military on the front lines. It's funny.. the poor defened the rich. Don't you think?EMOEVOLUTION
Because they have the ability not to. Â Its their choice, and unless theres a draft, they have every right to decide for themselves. Â If you were a rich parent, would you want your kids going to war? Â Would you just send your kids into war, when instead they have the chance of going to a good college and getting a high education? Â Note: I'm not implying that people in the military don't get high education, not at all. Â I'm just saying that because the family is rich, why risk going?

You realise all of that was more than likely set up, he was there we all know that but he also was on communications. yet the day after he was revealed to the public he was walking down a bombed out street rifle in hand, doing his part. funny cause thats not wat his job was.
i'm jsut saying thats not the best example cause he's not really on the front lines and more than likely was a publicity stunt to show how the royal family are putting their lives at risk for their people. i call Bull****, no way would they of put him in danger in anyway what so ever, so please dont use him as an example.Â

yeh your right Paris Hilton has earned her money and status, please people are forced into the army if that dont have oppurtunities available to them, those other jobs also don't offer a further education which is what the military does to enlist students.Â

IMO Poor people need money... and going into service all you need to do is follow orders no school required... but the rich kids all ready have money there is no need to go into the service
My brother is upper middle class and had a batchelors degree and joined the marines.
Also, the military is probably one of the easier ways to get some money and even move up from the poor to middle class, that is why it does attract those without much.Â
