I know the ending was ambiguous, but here's why a sequel would work

1. Hobb's wife. We could find out that she is still alive.

2. We could make hobb get setup again. Do you honestly think that man would have let Hobb see his kids without some slippery deal?

Inception really does need a sequel and I hope Christopher North realizes this and makes one.

Sometimes, good movies don't need sequels because the sequels wreck the original. And sometimes, an ending can wreck the entire franchise.

No, really just no. I liked the movie and all but I think that a sequel might not do it justice.

Inception is good as one single movie, a sequel would just spoil it.

i would actually fancy the idea of different stories based off the same idea of going into dreams to get information. it will have absolutely nothing to do with the original, it would be it's own story with a different title even, but using the basic ideas of the first like levels, the sedatives, architects, etc.

I believe that Inception needs a sequel for one reason: We need to go deeper.

Sure, but Inception isn't a good movie, and bad movies shouldn't get sequels period.

Some, no, a lot of bad movies have gotten sequels. Box office sales usually make for who gets what, even if they don't deserve it.

No. It's a good movie and doesn't need a sequel. I don't want it ruined like what they did with Lion King or the Little Mermaid.

No. The ending was good enough and should be left at that. Sequels can spoil a franchise or a movie in so many ways it's insane. I loved the movie, but no.

What made inception work so well was its open ending and being able to discuss it endlessly. If the holes are filled in what's left to discuss?

I can see it being remade in about 30 years (or 10 if things keep going the way they are), but no sequel, please.

The entire movie is Hobbs conciousness trying to get him to wake up. All the characters are aspects of his conciousness. It uses his wife as an example to make him realize that he's still in a dream. Just like when you're having a dream about something and it makes you wake up and realize something else. For example I lost my watch and couldn't find it anywhere. This was during the summer. I was totally pissed off and then I had a dream. I was sledding and it was winter. In my dream I was like why the heck am I dreaming about the winter in summer. Then in the dream I took my watch off and put it in my pocket to avoid damaging it while sledding.

Woke up, went downstairs to where the winter jackets were hung checked the pocket and there my watch was.

The idea is that you don't know whether she is alive or not or whether he's in reality at all. Inception is a reasonable movie by itself, though highly over rated IMO, if they made a squeal then they'd just be left with a cash in series of crap and no one would remember that the first one was any good.

Yes but 1: that only shows he wasn't in someone else's dream and 2: the reality in which it spun perfectly if he was dreaming could have been a dream.

There was never really anything to discuss the ending was obviously written in just to make the ending more interesting.

Why not? It had an intricate plot but was well paced enough to easily understand it with decent acting and score. What I don't get is how people cannot understand the movie.

Its a good movie, but nothing mind blowing.

Too many plain characters, plot holes, and lack of spectacle(your in bloody dreams, I expect more Oh ***** moments)

I'd personally like to see Nolan head back to mid-range budget titles (most of the budget dedicated to more A-list actors/actresses) that seem more narrative-focused, like my fav Memento and Following. Inception really succeeds at being ambiguous with just one entry.
