I don't understand why we can have the NAACP but can't have an identical organization for whites only without being labeled rascists. If I wanted to start a Caucasian Club at my school everyone would denounce me. Why if I say white power would I get looks but saying black power is ok?
White people always had the power. The NAACP was needed back then. Not as much now. A caucasion Club is just unnecessary. Besides, the NAACP isn't a club....

well first of all the NAACP was formed in 1909 so its not like its a recent thing...it was put out when Black people were being EXTREMELY racialized against and its purpose was to further advance themselves for equal rights......
so its not like its a new thing put together just to aggravate people....at one point it actually had purpose....
There is no reason at all for a white organization.....what would you being trying to prove, what would be the goal??? If there wasnt the NAACP back then there still wouldnt be one....because at this point nobody would even try to form it....there is no reason

Whats so wrong about people with interest in a culture gathering to discuss those interests? In the middle school I used to go to, we had alot of these race clubs, but the thing is anyone could join either club as long as they have an interest in that culture or what not.

NAACP is not a club that just discusses their similarities......and discussion of those similarities are great...it's using those similarities to seperate yourselves from society that is not good...nor healthy to the society as a whole....a caucasion club...like any "race" club (notice race not nationality as nationalities have similar experiences.....) is rediculous because caucausions are spread over so much of the world....I have very little in common with a french counterpart just based on skin color....
There are plenty of caucasian clubs; the French Club, the German Club, the Polish Club...
Part of the reason why black/AA student organizations are popular is that like it or not, many black Americans have a much more difficult time tracing their ancestry back past a few generations, compared to many white Europeans. Part of human nature is that we're always trying to categorize ourselves, or define ourselves as the part of something bigger (e.g. I'm British, I'm black, I'm a Yankees fan, I'm a CPA, I'm a hermit, etc.). Though I can't speak from experience, I suspect that it's got to be a sh*tty feeling to not know where your family roots lie in any narrower sense than "in Africa" or "in the Carribbean". I've never had a problem with cultural or race-based organizations provided that they're not trying to subject their ideologies upon people that don't want them.

Who said it was based on antagonizing other groups? Maybe I want something to put on my highschool transcript and whats better than founding a club? I already tried to join the African Heritage club on the basis that all humans supposedly evolved out of Africa but they wouldn't let me in.
