Does people know how to vote these days? I mean particularly when it comes to reviewing movies i guess it's people's opinions but for crying out loud.. Come on! I saw hangover a couple of weeks ago and I gotta say it wasn't even that good, I mean i thought it would be really funy but it wasn't as funny as i thought it would be!

But anyways, boy.. I just saw Transformers 2 today midnight release and I gotta say that movie was EPIC! I mean in terms of how much the people put into these movies and the special effects and design is phenomenal.

The problem is though I see that overall vote put together for "The Hangoever" is 8.5. WTH?! It's not even that funny.

When I looked to see the score of Transformers 2 my mood went down and went to "wtf mode" bcuz it got a score of 7.5.. what the ef does it deserve that?

That's the great thing about opinions - they're not the same.

I felt the same way when The Dark Knight scored higher than The Godfather and Shawshank Redemption... I don't feel that way with this though.

Have you ever read the IMDb forums? If so, you'd know that everything on that site should be disregarded.

Well according to Rotten Tomatoes, it deserves a 20%.
They also say its all special effects and no content. I havent seen it so I cannot say.

Seriously. Besides, the scores almost always go down over time.

Hangover is a good, funny movie that does everything a movie in its genre can. Plus its a movie youll just enjoy that much more if you actualy have friends and party, also helps if you watch it high i guess.

Transformers 2 is just another summer blockbuster with no substance.

Pretty much why you should never look to IMDB for movie ratings. It also has TDK as the 6th or 7th best movie of all time

Because The Hangover is one of the funniest movies of the year (it's also a big surprise hit, which means it's probably going to be slightly overrated, but I loved it), and Transformers 2 is practically a remake of the first movie.

I won't say I wasn't entertained by Transformers 2 (I'm a straight guy...Megan Fox in IMAX catches my attention no matter how childish the humor is) and the action was decent. But it goes along with Wolverine as one of the most forgettable movies of the summer. There were no surprises, the action was still a little hard to comprehend (except for the forest sequence, which was phenomenal), and the plot was pretty dumb.

Expect Transformers 2 to drop to 6.5 in a week, and I'd expect Hangover to stay in the upper 7's for the rest of its...well, existance.

The Dark Knight... best movie ever according to imdb during the first few months after it's premiere... when I look at movies in imdb I usually wait 2 months for the score to settle on a more accurate number... I still think TDK's score is a little too high though >.>

I've always thought Rottentomatoes was more reliable than IMDB.

They're both still fairly new releases and new movies often start out high on the top 250. Give it a few more weeks and the scores should even out.

Well, the community score at RT is as (un)reliable as IMDb. The average rating of the critic reviews is a good way to go, though.

Oh I never pay attention to the RT forum communities. The critic averages RT has is probably among the most reliable movie ratings, though.

Any site that has Born On The Fourth of July at a 7.1 average, and the Dark Knight at 8.8 can't really be trusted.

I'm sorry, but Transformers 2 was just terrible. A 7.5 is generous IMO.
