Why is it if youre single, (some) ppl think you are lonely?

That is so not true, n it annoys me. u dont have to have a boyfriend to be 'not' lonely its like single people have a disability or something if ur not going out with somebody.

Why are you worrying about what others think you are feeling? If it's not true than why are you defensive?

I'd rather be alone nobody to get in my way or bother me. I don't see why, when someone doesn't have a girlfriend, and isn't even interested in anyone in their area, they're considered a loser or weird.

People see me as a loser because I've never had a girlfriend. Honestly, thats idiotic. I am content enough with myself and my life to not feel the need to go out and "find that one special person lolz", and I have basic enough respect for a fellow human being not to dance around and bullcrap my way into a girls pants just because I want sex.

I'm quite social, actually probably moreso than most of my friends/people I hang out with, but I don't have a girlfriend. What's your point?

I'm saying that people who aren't social are probably never going to get a girlfriend, but people who don't have girlfriends aren't necessarily loners.

I find it funny how the thought ofhaving a significant other changes depending on your age group.

First when you're really young, it's uncool (or embarassing so that you don't want to tell your friends) to have a girfriend, because of course girls have cooties.

Then when you're in your teens, If you don't have a girlfriend you are uncool due to your inability to get chicks.

Once you get to your late teens/early 20s (or, say around the college age), having a girlfriend once again uncool, because now you're tied down, can't go out with your buddies as much, have a whole bunch of rules and restraints, and of course, can't go pick up on chicks and have one nighters that you and your friends hype up all so much.

And while I certaintly haven't gotten to this stage yet, I imagine once you get older and settle down a bit, having someone there for you is once again a good thing to have.

You shouldn't care what those people think anyway. I used to be really antisocial. I changed some, but I still am a loner. I don't need much social interaction. An occasional outing with friends is fine though.
