I think what the TC is asking is why it should be okay for you to call me a cracker since I'm white (or any other racist saying directed towards white people) but then if I were to call you a "spic" since you're hispanic, I would be deemed a racist. This is just my view on the TC's original post.
Just to be safe, I wasn't calling you a spic or trying to be racist in any way, I was purely making an example.

i dont say it.
but i say we ban all racist words.
A few months back in school, I was walking through the halls and a bunch of black people were just calling each other the N word and saying it nonstop. So some white kid comes buy and calls his friend the N word. The black kids start freaking out like someone just shot their grandma. No joke. It's starting to become rediculous. I guess racist words only have an affect when another race uses them.

i know right....i cant even go through a school day without hearing that damned word

That sort of makes sense... except if someone called me a cracker (I'm white), or any "racist" term towards whites, I'd probably just laugh at them. I dont know why, but I just wouldnt get offended by racist abuse toward me.
the N word is a black people word we dont want no other race to use and i dont mind hispanics sayin the N wordYoungGun13The J word is a white people word and we don't want no other race to use and I don't mind native americans saying the J word.
Imagine that... A race of people claiming a word and getting upset when another race uses it. There's a word for that too, it's called racism.

Saying that... I'd probably laugh because of how ridiculous it is to try to offend someone because of the colour of their skin.

Glad your generation feels like that. We'll lick this whole racism thing in our lifetimes, I hope.
Here's just a music example. So I was listening to G N' R Lies today and thought of all the controversy that the songs One in a Million and Used to Love Her recieved while a rap group like N.W.A gets praise for being far more sexist, racist, and cussing almost every other word. PsychoT4PrezNWA is hardly far from controversial. GNR was never that good of a band and on 'Live Like A Suicide' (which was NOT live, at all). Axl really is racist (even though he kind of tries to play it off as a joke). The truth is that all parties involved have somewhat of a persecution complex. Racism is usually not good for anyone, and that you even have this complaint shows that what you're objecting to (a double standard) doesn't exist.

I mean that your generation doesn't see race like older generations do. saying "it's ridiculous to try to offend someone because of the color of their skin" is something previous generations could never say.
and thank you. the sig is an original.

im jus sayin the truth
So the truth is a self contradiction?
Fact is, if black people keep saying the word, they encourage all races to keep saying the word (especially kids.) They keep the word alive.
A race can't "own" a word.
[QUOTE="YoungGun13"]the N word is a black people word we dont want no other race to use and i dont mind hispanics sayin the N wordSSCyborg
Actually it was a white people word for black people. Maybe they don't want you using their word. :o Got ya there.:P
no you didnt white people made the word with an ''er'' so we changed it to ''a'' so its our word

That's bull.
It's still the same word. It came from the same word.
And, again, A RACE CAN NOT OWN A WORD
[QUOTE="YoungGun13"]you cant stop black people from sayin the word
SSCyborg
And you can't stop anyone else... Unless you do it by force, which is against the law.
im not tryin to stop any1 im jus sayin wat i think
I know what you are saying. It's like when the white man who was paralyzed was dumped out of his wheel chair by black officers. We all know what would have happened if the races were reversed. Reverse racism is prevalent in America.
I still think we've reached a point where it has been pretty well marginalized, though. It is never going to go away completely. There will always be racial tensions, but I think we're getting to the point where it isn't THAT bad.
[QUOTE="jaydough"] Am I the only one who gets offended when he's called a cracker? It's just... I eat crackers. :? SSCyborg
:o
You ate him?
YOU MONSTER!
I doesn't like picturing me eating myself. :|It's impossible for blacks to hate whites. All black people love white people. It says so in the New York Times. :)
BTW N word with the ''er'' is the term that came from the root of the spanish word negro meaning black....YoungGun13And the N word with an "a" is a term that came from the N word with an "er", which was used extensively in the oppression of your people. Go on and use it, call your brothers by that word, encourage it's use while the white man laughs
