it's because although jesus, if he existed (lets not get into that discusion again) would have been dark skinned, most christians are white, and it has been burned into our minds that jesus is white. this has been a topic that i have also thought about, but i just put it down to christians and western culture trying to change parts of the religion to better suit there ideals.

Yes they can, in modern times. But in the ancient world it would have been Jewish people not blacks. They where still in Africa since they hadn't really been thrown around the globe. Plus they where tribal and nobody ever really paid attention to them. The ancient world was a MUCH different place. And Jewish people look mostly white, not middle eastern or black.

People would be terrified if they found out Jesus wasn't an American citizen. Joking aside, I suppose people will draw Jesus up in their own vision. When the majority population is white, the cultural interpretation of The Savior is a white person with blue eyes and sometimes with blondish hair. At least this is my best guess.

Of course, most every movie out there today about Jesus Christ is played by a white person - it isnt correct, but a black person portaying Jesus wouldnt be correct either.

Because he was most assuredly arabic in physical features.. The jewish population shared such characteristics with the people of that region.... And Judiasim is a religion, its not a ethnicity...sSubZerOo
