i've never seen the appeal to it; and i definately havn't seen how it takes skill. Leading shots can be a little difficult but if leading shots was considered skill than the rocket launcher would be the new sniper. this is mostly true in FPS multiplayer games. People love to camp with the sniper, and please dont say anything like "amg its not camping its sniping nerd!" because the second you replace the sniper with an assault rifle your a camper. its a 1-2 shot kill in every game i've seen; i just dont understand how it takes skill to 1 shot kill someone with an automatic weapon from across the map when they aren't aware of your presence. i just dont get it.

Because the entire idea of being a sniper behind enemy lines shooting people alone from a mile away appeals to people. I mean, you have to admit that is pretty awesome.

Sniping in games isn't particularly skillfull, but real sniping definitely takes skill.

And different people like different things, not everyone is the same :P.

I think I'd rather be sneaky with my kills then being on the ground and possibly getting shot. I'd be a sniper over anything else assault-wise any day of the week. Although you can get shot as a sniper, the odds of it happening are greatly diminished.

I love sniping in video games going behind enemy lines killing people and being all elusive. But watch into the crosshairs on Discovery or history channel that is very intriguing.

... Probably because its satisfying in killing a enemy in one hit, instead of riddling their body with bullet holes.

Gaming discussion isn't allowed in the OT. You'd be better off of the GGD forum.
