Why is the Israeli lobby so powerful in America?

It's scary, I personally don't support Israel. To see what Obama and Clinton did really shows how powerful the Israeli lobby is. I think it's probably because there are more Zionists in the United States than in most other Western countries.ElectronicMagic

Most people consider Western Europe in there(U.K, France, Ireland, Iceland, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, ect).

The land isn't their's, the Palestinians were living there when the British decided to "give" the land to the Jews because everyone felt bad for them after WWII. So they moved into Palestine, forcing Palestinians to leave the land. Ever since the Israeli's have been very oppressive with Palestinians. Even after annexing much of Palestine, they still want more and establish settlements in non-Israeli areas.

So they moved into Palestine, forcing Palestinians to leave the land. Ever since the Israeli's have been very oppressive with Palestinians. Even after annexing much of Palestine, they still want more and establish settlements in non-Israeli areas.

I think it's stupid how our politics in general is biased in favor of Isreal all the time, and openly talks to the rest of the world on our behalf as if every American has some kind of loving bond with Isreal....camreeno360

They went through one of the most tragic events in history, and the least the world could have done was carve them out a little piece of land they could call home. Jewish people (while guilty of making fun of them) are some of the most resilient and strong-willed people. They have gone through thousands of years of oppression.

I don't condone it, but it's a perfectly good reason to them. Palestinians are up against Israel backed by the United States, what do Palestinians have that can go up against that? They are desperate, they are doing whatever they can to do damage to their enemy. Israel does the same thing to innocent Palestinians with their bombings.

everyone wants to get rid of the jews, they first offered them a place in argentine and somwere in africa, but they declined and demanded palestine since they knew that those places have high population and that they will end up losing up. Jews are very rich and its a fact that every country whats to get rid of them so they placed them all into palestine.

i personaly think they don't belong to palestine since these jews are a mixture from all kinds of people and they dont really have any roots in palestine.

1. Lots of people vote with them.

2. Nobody lobbies in the other direction.

The result is that placating them gets you votes and doesn't loose any. Not doing so only looses you votes and gains none.
