if it bleeds it leads, and since nobody is bleeding in iraq, people need other places to look to for death and destruction.
this is why I don't pay too much attention to the news. its always too depressing.
Maybe because the people who own the news station support a certain political view? Why do you think FOX hires the most jackass conservative reporters and anchormen? FOX is by far the worst, in speaking of biases.GettingTired
Fox news isn't biased in general, but certain shows such as oreilly factor are. But they are just trying to make up for all of the other programs being so biased....and i would say msnbc is waaaay worse than fox.
it's an inconvient truth that algore did do to much to help with global warming..
partyman879
Every single "fact" in that movie has been debunked. And the name should have been "a convenient truth" because it really is. Even Al Gore knows it's a joke. If he cared, then he most likely wouldn't have flown his private jet to get there.

I mean come on, just watch the news. Look at the attention they give to certain stories. Al Gore travelled to the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony to recieve his prize for his work on global warming on his private jet. The violence in Iraq has decreased 70% since the troop surge. How about an amazing story about bravery, like the one about the guy who got the medal of honor. The story about the troop surge is huge! If violence doubled in Iraq, i guarentee you that the media would jump all over that. Don't deny it, you know they would. They only choose to cover certain stories, those which benefit the left. Now my question isn't "do you think the media is Biased?" They are, any sane person will agree with me. I am wondering why they are.lilburtonboy748
If the media doesn't report on those things, how did you find out about them?
TV is biased because everything, except for cold hard facts, are biased.cool_baller
To further reiterate on that statement, until AI is perfected enough where it can shell out just the facts of an event, then the media will be biased. People are biased, thats how it is.
The corporate media is liberal? Thats a laugh!!!
Covering a well known figure, ( al gore is a retard who's gotten popular lately ) is just a ratings decision. The point of their operations is to maximize ratings -- to get the profits $$$.
Massive corporations have a populist slant? Only a brainwashed neocon could believe something so oxymoronic.
"If it bleeds it, it leads"
But seriously LOL at lilburtonboy thinking the corporate media is somehow liberal!

News has to be biased to cater for different markets so they can get more sales. The media is a product and therefore exists to sell it self
Because it gets ratings.Hellraiser3899Exactly!
They don't care about anything else. That's why they report dumb ****. Such as whatever Britney Spears did. They aren't gonna report anything relevant to the REAL world, notunless it gets the most viewers. The average television viewer is ateenager, an old lady or anidiot. If it wasn't for them there would be no reason to broadcast television programs.
Maybe because the people who own the news station support a certain political view? Why do you think FOX hires the most jackass conservative reporters and anchormen? FOX is by far the worst, in speaking of biases.GettingTiredFox is no more biased than any other station. People only say it is, because unlike every other TV station, Fox is biased towards the right, instead of the left. Liberals have so many different networks supporting any ridiculous move they make, the republicans have one and they can't get a break on it. its ridiculous.
Because it gets ratings.Hellraiser3899Basically, the News likes to cover mostly negative things IMO that way people will be interested, it can't all be "Little girl is happy, has her first puppy" stories:P
Solution: watch BBC News.

Agreed. Americans seem to forget that things go on in the world outside of America and Iraq.

I don't forget they happen, but how would it possibly make sense to care about things that don't affect us more than things that do?[QUOTE="bradleybhoy"]Watch BBC News.MagnumPIBut I can't. I have to root for my team. I would feel guilty otherwise.
Riiiiiight. So you complain about left wing bias but you'll continue to support a media outlet which had an explicit right wing bias. Bias is bias. BBC News at least strives for unbiased, balanced and factual reporting. This might mean a lack of exciting, sensationalist bull**** but at least you get fair news.

Hes very right, you dont need to depend on a set amount of sources its best to try and watch as many as you can to get the best feel of whats going on. TV in general could really be a lie feeding brainwashing machine anyway but some more good news and channels are from
Link tv channel with news broadcasts like
DW Journal, a German broadcast..Global Pulse is a Current Events show that ~Compares~ the news from international news.
CCTV channel shows alot of the Chinese markets and thier view of world affairs
to be on topic as of why they are biased is because they need to make money so they pick what to show that gives ratings + every country in the world is biased always anyway because everyone has national pride. Kind of like how bad guys in video games think they're the good guys.
The BBC doesn't need to worry about making money. They're funded by the state... however it is highly scrutinised for political bias.

Bias aside, anyone accustomed to major network news in the USA will be astounded by how many other events happen in the world every day if they listen to just one hour of BBC.
