Why is the Twilight series so popular?

I love them.

Night/Daywatch are very good, although Ive just seen the films.

Twilight screwed up the entire myth of vampires in my opinion.Marksman2200

tons of books and movies have done that and made vampires more interesting, if all vampires were the same and stuck to myths it would be dull.

I saw Nightwatch I was just out renting a bunch of random horror movies because I wanted something to watch, that was one of the movies I picked up, it was amazing, I haven't been able to find Daywatch though:cry:

They were/are pretty good books.....

Girls like love stories. And the Prince Charming story will never become unpopular imo.

Edward is perfect, that's the problem, you can't relate with him, I kind of like relating to the characters in the books I'm reading.

I dont know how I heard about Nightwatch, I think I just saw a commercial on Sci-Fi late one night and I saw it and I rented it xP

Theres alot of lonely teenage girls who need to find something to fill the void left by there non-existant sex lives.

Its also poorly written and devoid of originality so of course it's popular.

Maybe I'll have to make a trip up to Blockbuster soon and see if they have it anywhere.

I read Eragon and was reading Eldest, but I lost the book, so I never finished it.

Little did I know, Brisingr had a synopsis of Eragon and Eldest at the beginning!!!!

I don't know. I've read all four books, and I'm still not even really sure why. They're badly written and uninteresting. I also hate the two main characters (Edward and Bella). I like Jacob and the rest of the werewolves, though.

Anyway, I think they just...appeal to people -- mostly teenage girls -- because they're easy to read and get into... Also, a lot of people like that romantic sort of thing. I don't, really. I mostly read the books because they're easy to get into and kind of funny because they're so ridiculous.

I hate it when that happens, re-read through a series to get ready for the new book in the series, only to have all the events explained to you at the beginning of the new book.

Although, whatever you do, never EVER read The Lucifer Gospel. I always finish the book, but that book was so horrible that I couldnt finish it. I left it by the toilet, waiting for someone just to throw it away :lol:
