Pretty much summed it up right there. They see other people do it and they wanna be popular so they do it too. I mean don't we all want our topic on the front page for a large amount of time because people are debating arguing and flaming each other?
1. People come on here to confirm there beliefs and see if other people agree so they feel better with themselves (Athiesm and Religion both apply) When they should really believe what they want to because you cant prove God or disprove him.
2. Religion threads are basically the flavour of the month now ONLY because those threads get alot of attention. So people will make a Religion thread, even if they are not interested in it. Just because they know that the thread is going to reach 10 or more pages and they will feel popular.
