Wiz Khalifa's pretty well known, and only getting bigger...SmittyPeppersI know hes known but im saying hes not at Soulja boys level when he should be way higher
I discovered him a couple weeks ago, and since then I've seen a few of my friends post his stuff on facebook. Zion-I is still my favorite, Wiz Khalifa is definitely better than Soulja Boy, but he still sticks to so much cliche bull ****. Like, saying his record label in his songs, too much drug and money references, etc. It's fine for some people, but I find it annoying. Honestly I don't know why weed is so glorified, yeah, you and countless amounts of people do it too, g4u sir, get that **** out of your music and have some more intellectual lyrics. (I'm not against the legalization of weed either)
Zion-I - Silly Puddy... nuff said.
I'm more of a rock and metal person though, but I like a bit of everything, I'm just extremely picky. Music is turning into indie movies, mostly cliche crap, you gotta dig through it to find something golden.

At the end of the day, you're no more correct than I or the millions of Soulja Boy fans are.

Why are Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Gang Starr, Common, etc not more popular? Because a lot of people want to listen to music like Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne that requires zero thought or introspection.hillelslovakSo true dude
Wiz is well-known; just not as mainstream as Soulja Boy. More or less, Soulja Boy is a household name. If I were to ask my mother who was Souljia boy, she would start dancing and attempt to reenact the "Soulja Boy" dance. Now, Wiz Khalifa on the other hand, she would think I am talking gibberish. On the topic of mothers, I love my mommy.
I still think that K'nann needs more attention as well, Im not sure how famous he is internationally but hes an amazing singer and I almost never hear about him around Chicago or even on the internet. Only thing that really got him talked about was the remix of wavin flag he did with David Bisbal really.

DJ Premier is the highest respected producer in hip-hop and Guru (RIP), Mos, Talib, and Common are all legends who have sold millions of albums. Sure 13 year girls who watch MTV and listen to the radio might not know them but everyone else does.
