Why no female soldiers?

Something thats always bugged me for some reason was the fact that in America (I dont really know where else) we don't allow females to fight alongside men in battle. I mean, its a proven fact that Females are better shots then men.. especially when it comes to sniping. Thats why Russia used female soldiers in WWII, they might have used them after that but Im not too sure youll have to look it up or something =/.

Anywho, why exactly dont we give females the choice to fight? Im not a feminist, im not even a chick.. I just dont think its right.

Women aren't allowed to fight in any military I know of. One reason is women emotionally aren't equipped for war and to kill the way men are.

We had a guy in my platoon who weighed 260 lbs, with all his gear and his weapon, possibly over 300 lbs. If he got shot and can't walk, how do you expect a woman soldier to help him or bring him to cover? And women aren't better snipers than men, I don't know where you heard that...

We in the Canadian military lost a female soldier in Afghanistan last year, she was even part of my unit. She was just as capable as any man there. Karine Blais was her name, never gonna forget her.

one reason.....women have their period. thats more supplies and one more thing that needs to be dealt with if they are out on some sort of mission. often causing emotional instabillity.

There are woman soldiers in the US Army that fight along side other soldiers.

Lots of issues with women fighting alongside men. In a perfect world, it would work. Our world isn't perfect. There are physical limitations, emotional limitations on both sides (men would be more likely to crack if they saw a woman get blown up than another man), and sexual limitations.

i understand that (hopefully) this is sarcasm. But how can anyone make fun of women who are fighting a war to protect your a$$, last time I checked a soldier is a soldier no matter what gender they may be. How can anyone make fun of someone for protecting their own homes and yours?

Fist there's the muscle mass and red blood cell issues which mean that women would find it much more difficult to have the same strength as men. Also there's the issue of sexual tension within the squad which could mess up coherancy but i think the main one is that it's thought that a man will risk his life much more readily for an injured female comrade than an injured male pottentially putting his whole unit at risk. Oh and they'ld need seperate baracks which isn't an issue at base but could be a problem when out on patrol.

Having female front line soldiers could work if they made all female squads, that would remove pretty much all the possible problems.

I am chill, i just wanted to put that person in his place, you wouldnt make fun of a male soldier that way then why would you make fun of female soldiers? They are just as well trained as the male counterparts, yes maybe they cant carry as much, or work for as long, but they are just as willing to lay their lives for the protection of their country, and i would rather have a person with that quality with me on the front lines, then some guy who can carry 200 pounds of equipment but isnt ready to give his life for his country.

And for one, women aren't better shots than men. I don't know how many girls I've gone through qualifications with, but I haven't seen a single one of them shoot expert, whereas I'm hitting 25/30 consistently. Yeah, I'm sure there's the rare case of a woman being an excellent shot...but I haven't seen it.

Why the hell do some people think men and women are the same? WOMEN and MEN are not equally capable of doing anything. Women are better at these tasks, men are better at those tasks, etc. women and men are equal but not the same, we each have strengths in different fields.

Allowing women to go to war in a combat role is disadvantageous for so many reasons. As mentioned above, there is the physical limitations, the emotional, the favouritism it would cause among male soldiers: If a women and a man are injured, who do you think the male medic is gonna save?

My own reason for women not being in war is based on biology. WOMEN ARE MORE VALUABLE THEN MEN. i'm a guy btw. Women can reproduce, men cannot. after the war is over you want your nation, your culture to live on right? win or lose. In order for your people to live on, you must have WOMEN alive after the war, not men. the ability of your nation to continue on after the war is dependent on how many women you still have. you only need a few fertile males alive, and your civilization wil be fine. So if your gonna send someone to die, send the men. Women are too valuable to risk their lives.

I meant front-line combat units.

I already know they're in FOBs and part of IBD units. But not in a front-line combat unit.

Isn't it obious? We don't let woman compete with men in almost all physical sports. When we do they tend to lose without a chance of winning. War is all about winning. Men are programmed to be competitive and win at all costs. Would you as a country rather notspend your money(training equipment...) on physically and emotionally more suited recruits? And think about all the rape female war prisonars would have to endure.
Maby if in the future war becomes more like doing groceries we will see much more female soldiers.
