I watched the Dark Knight the other day and have other comments to make later but this one is about the posters. One of the posters shows a building with a gaint flaming bat symbol on it. That would have been awsome in the film, but all they had was a bat symbol coming out of smoke or blueish flames in the opening titles. What gives...

"Artistic license". That and it would've seemed hokey if a bomb went off that looked like a bat symbol. It was pushing the envelope when they tied Falcone to the searchlight in Batman Begins and his silhouette appeared as a bat in the sky.
By the way, here's a better poster that I found, although I think it was made by a fan. It's still pretty awesome though.
