Why no one ever made a movie or a game based on the Bible?

With God with an epic fight with Lucifer at the end. It would be cool.

I kinda like the way the TV show supernatural is going, kinda a bit pathetic, but its going ways we dont usually see in movies. For somoe reason you almost never see characters like Lucifer, Jesus, God, the angels, and so on in movies and other stuff. Supernatural season 4 just ended, right when Lucifer was coming from hell. We have to wait for season 5 to see how he looks like.

Not wanna talk much about the game, cause mods are extremely harsh when we post anything game related in OT, but this aint much about games. But why not a game?

Cause if it was on the next gen systems a lotta ppl wouldn't play it except hardcore christians would be SO offended if you didnt play it saying "you're not a christian!"

Plus it would be such a touchy subject video game style. Also a LOT of non-christians would be offended and demand that it never sees the VG console.

It would be a disaster for the company that would publish it/ or develop it.

For a game, it would be an epic disaster due to Christians and non-Christians who are offended and angry.

Regarding movies, look at Passion of the Christ. Mel Gibson, who directed it, and James Caviezel, who played Jesus, hardly have a career now. While it may not be only because of this film, there has been a good amount of buzz that its a big reason why their careers have gone downhill. Christianity doesn't play well with the Hollywood crowd.

I kind of remember seeing videos of a Bible game where you were walking around trying to convert people. It kind of looked like the way Pikmin played.shockwave04

Well there is already several movies...

A game would be hard to work into/potentially offend people.

Though I have to say a game based around a character like David could be possible, and even very GOW violent. He slaughtered and enslaved several peoples for God and because of "potential" threats.

He did not just kill Goliath, he cut off his head for display.

I'd rather seeHellenic Greek Mythos than Christian Mythos. Plus secret Temple of Aphrodite hot coffee scene FTW! and lets not forget Troy!

Why would you make a game based on the bible? All you would be doing is countless travelling and talking, with a miracle here and a battle there, I think what you are looking for is a game based on christianity, and we have dante's inferno sort of.

two the bible is hella long so a movie would be like 7 hours

They did.

As pointed out there are tons of bible based games. Bible adventures, super noahs ark 3d, Joshua, Journey to the promised land, Sunday funday, etc. Wisdom tree was a company making nothing but unoffical bible NES games back in the early 90's. There was also a Noahs ark game by Konami, though I don't think it followed the story too well.
