Why on earth did they take McCoy out of the game for a minor injury

Minor injuries turn into major injuries. Lose a player for one game, or lose him for a bunch.

Well...since this was the championship and McCoy isn't coming back next year, I doubt Texas was worried about losing him for a bunch. :P That said, you're still right. Who said the injury was minor in the first place? If they put him back into the game, he either wouldn't be effective or he'd get more injured.

He said it felt like his arm was dead. If he's telling the truth, it doesn't sound minor at all.

I don't watch.. football? I don't know who any of these people are or anything. And the OP said it was minor, in the thread title.

I highly doubt it was a minor injury.

Yeah I was pulling for the horns too... It's better to keep him healthy for the NFL... plus I thought Gilbert played a great second half-- hes a freshman qb for the Texas Longhorns, and all of a sudden finds himself playing in the National Championship game... I think he did well considering

Well since his arm was completely numb even after the game was over he probably has a deep bruise or even worse nerve damage from the hit. If you notice he got a helmet right into his shoulder/back right above his arm. Either way good game for Alabama since I was rooting for them.

Also, after the game McCoy said his arm didn't hurt-- but he couldn't feel it at all-- that doesn't sound like a "minor" injury to me....
