Well...since this was the championship and McCoy isn't coming back next year, I doubt Texas was worried about losing him for a bunch. :P That said, you're still right. Who said the injury was minor in the first place? If they put him back into the game, he either wouldn't be effective or he'd get more injured.

It's better to keep him healthy for the NFL... plus I thought Gilbert played a great second half-- hes a freshman qb for the Texas Longhorns, and all of a sudden finds himself playing in the National Championship game... I think he did well considering
Well since his arm was completely numb even after the game was over he probably has a deep bruise or even worse nerve damage from the hit. If you notice he got a helmet right into his shoulder/back right above his arm. Either way good game for Alabama since I was rooting for them.
