Why should a Tiger die when a Human act's stupid?

This genius taunted the tiger by dangling his leg over the PROTECTIVE BARRIER seperating him from the MAN-EATING TIGER.

So, the dummy dies, the Tiger escapes and then get's shot because he's BEING A TIGER.

I thought the tiger chewed the flesh of the arm of a female zoo keeper nearlly a year before this recent accident? If that is true then i have a feeling these recent accidents were a case of "maneater" syndrome that happens in predatory animals.

That and the fact is how do you propose they stop a 200lb+ Siberian tiger? You can't sedate them as tigers and anasthetics(sp?) dont mix well at all. Infact there is many cases where tigers never wake up from a sedative so other than sending men in steel suits to wrestle it to the ground the police had no other option other than to kill the poor beast.

It's sad that such a regal animal had to be killed but if it hadnt of been killed it would of taken more lives, what if the next life it took was a young childs? Would you be so quick to jump to the tigers defense then? I know i wouldnt lol.

If what they are say is true then no I don't feel bad about it. Just like that video of the polar bear attacking the lady through the bars. Stupid people get no simpathy from me. Oh and the zoo keeper? She should have known better too. Zoo or not tigers are dangerous animals and it was just doing what was natural to them. My cat takes a swipe at me too but she's not a 300lb tiger.

I always find it humorous when people capture and lock up these animals and then all of a sudden act surprised when said animal acts on it's natural instincts. Go figure. Sure, lock it up until it doesn't fit "appropriate" behaviour, is provoked by some moron sticking his leg through the cage, and THEN determine that "hey, this animal is actually acting like an animal.....not just an animal, but a WILD animal".......and then they decide to kill it.

Like once it crosses that border from non-aggression to aggression, it is deemed unsuitable for captivity and is destined to death by it's very nature.

What it all boils down to is that human life is more important than animal life. I'm as much of an animal sympathizer as the next person, but if a dangerous animal is killing someone, or is charging at you, you MUST kill it to avoid it killing someone or yourself. Sure, it would have been nice to shoot it with tranquilizer darts, but those things don't work fast enough.

It's a bloody shame that the tiger should lose its life because the act of one really stupid idiot, but that stupid idiot was unfortunatly a human, which comes first.

Well, the cops arent going to just sit there and do nothing when a freaking Tiger is coming at them. I dont think stun guns would be a safe bet in this case.Darthmatt

An escaped tiger is an escaped tiger. Noone wanted to be near it. They had every right to kill, and besides, this was just found out.
