[QUOTE="samuraiguns"]the ice caps wont melt while im here well do what you wish.because you live here.

Why should we care about the environment you ask?
1. If the oceans and lakes are polluted, that means more fish and sea-animals will die.
2. I can't stand the smell of trash on the ground
3. Earth is the only planet we got, so we might as well do our best to keep it clean.
We should we care? Because we live in this environment. Even now our industrialization has affected the air quality we breathe, there is deforestation, etc. Why have foresight? Because we have empathy for the lives of future generations of people. If you don't care about humanity you better isolate yourself in a little box and never interact with anyone. Why not off ourselves right now?
The amount of selfishness on the TC's behalf overwhelms me. Even when i die, i still want this planet to be around to support all future generations including animals. One less selfish person in this world will benefit the rest of us greatly.
No i'm no PETA nutjob so DON'T quote me.
The Earth takes care of us we should take care of it.
I guess you don't care about future generations cuz once your dead who cares if anyone can survive right?
If the Earth dies so do we.
Your parasitical mindset disturbs me.
because humans are worthless jerks who destroy the environment that gives them the very life that they take for granted. we should at least cut the beautiful earth a little slack.
like Doc. Manhattan said in the graphic novel Watchmen
Doc.: Mars gets along perfectly without so much as a micro-organism.See, there's the south pole below us. No life. No life at all, but giant steps 90 feet high, scoured by dust and wind into a constantly changing topographical map, flowing and shifting around the pole in ripples ten thousand years wide. Tell me... would it be greatly inproved by an oil pipeline?
Why should we care about the environment? we wont be here, shouldnt we invest in things that we can benifit from in our lifetime? slighly selfish but isnt that what the previous generation did to us?BayAreaXwell other than "your grand grand grand childrend will suffer from it if we don't do anything about it"...it is to stop the use of oil! scientist's forsee that there will not be any more oil in 40 years(although they said the same thing 30 years ago)...if we do not find a alternative to oil within 40 years you can imagen how the world would be like:P well there is also the fact that nobody want to bedependend on russia/some south american countries/saudiarabia etc. who has the oil and gas...what if they for some reason decided to keep all the oil to them selves? thats why windpower etc. is the way to go! for indipendence and a better world... there is also the bonus if you created a lot of windmills etc. you make work for ppl to do so there will be more ppl in work and that is a more efficient way of spending money on the finiancial crisis than lowering taxes

What are you some kind of PETA nutjob?
Because if we kill the Earth and therefore kill ourselves before we invent the Time Machine, humanity will never get the chance to fight against dinosaurs...

Haha Real funni!
Why should we care about the environment? we wont be here, shouldnt we invest in things that we can benifit from in our lifetime? slighly selfish but isnt that what the previous generation did to us?BayAreaXThat is NO excuse to do it to the NEXT generation; if we could do it to the PREVIOUS generation, it would be retaliation, and could be justified. But to do it to those who didn't do it to us is unjust to say the very least. I can't help but think you're trolling. Are you?
Slightly selfish? Essentially ruining the lives of thousands of generations of humans just so you can be lazy is slightly selfish? Very selfish I daresay.
And yes, if we don't take care of our environment now, then the next generations won't ever experience true nature, go on a plane ride (not enough oil), or do many things we take for granted. Eventually it'll get so bad that it WILL ruin the lives of billions.
