Why would a grown man want to wear womens make-up? Its kind of odd isnt it?

I dont see that type of **** in any other genre of music....

Does it matter? Back in the day the wealthy Egyptians wear make up and right now most male actors and musicians wear makeup too. Though, it is not noticeable, it is still there.

It is odd that a man would wear make up like a woman. It makes them look like pansies, but obviously it works because they get laid all the time.

It adds to the image the sound is trying to create. Also in some respect, it changes stuff from being just a normal guy on stage.

For the same reason a bunch of people have stage names... you know, because if it were simply David Robert Jones on stage it wouldn't have the same effect as David Bowie because DRJ is just a person, whereas Bowie is a megastar...

It is hard to explain, but it sort of divides us normal people from the rockstars...

And perhaps to a lesser extent it is a way for musicians themselves to differentiate between the person on stage and the person they really are. I doubt most rock musicians are the same on stage as they would be in starbucks...

I seem upset.:| I can assure you I'm not. The guy in my sig makes awesome music. Doesn't matter what he uses on stage as long as the music is good. Though I suspect in his case he hides his real self behind the make up. Don't know for sure.....don't care. It's the music that counts.;)

I agree. When a band becomes more concerned about what mascara they're going to wear (Chanel or No. 7) then the music they're actually playing then it really bugs me as to how much better they could be without all that crap. The only time I tolerate it is when it's part of some kind of gimmick like David Bowie or KISS.
