Why there is genocide and murder in name of religion ?

Although i'm religious , i never supported or understood reason for genocide / muder in name of religion.

Its usually not for religous purposes. Most of the time its political reasons, but people just use religion to justify it or to recruit braindead cannon fodder......or sword fodder.....

However, when it is for religious purposes, people feel that serving god's will is paramount to any sort of compassion or humanity......ironic isn't it?

The media always notes the suspects religious background when it comes to murder/homocide, etc But I've never heard the media note in the news that the suspect of the similar crime was an atheist.wiifan001
