Tell that to my professors. We can't cite it as a source in any material we submit. I just skip down to the listed sources in the Wiki article and use those.
Well, nothing I've taken from there so far has been false. So until that day I go to class and get an F on a report, then I'll believe that it's full of bull****.
You have to realize though that anyone from anywhere and get onto Wikipedia and edit (almost) whatever they want. So, in that regard the information is not checked over. I could get onto Kim Kaphwan's article and say that he does Judo instead of Taekwondo and it will likely stick around for a week or so until someone notices.
The information in Wiki may not be entirely correct, but it's not all of it is complete false. I don't know why teachers make such a big deal about it.
Wikipedia has many citation needed tags. The problem with it is I could go on there and post something that is completre bullcrap as true, and half the population would probably believe it.

Yes it does, im no conspiracy nut, but the North American Union page has been heavily edited to the point where its unrecognisable and false, looking through the history of the page to see what it used to look like, and I remember it well, the history is edited to show more made up non sensical crap, what was on it before has been hidden. The government does edit it since I have seen it for myself.

But I remember reading that some guy was fired from Wikipediaafter they found out he was just some regular guy who said he had a degree in theology but really just copied straight out of books :lol: And this guy made 100s of articles. Generally though its a credible source.

I think it was the April fools before the last one..I haven't been on the forums for a while for I'm kinda confused, but the wiki thing was extraordinary. I'm not sure how it was accepted..but it was.

I believe they posted that in uncyclopedia....
I don't think so...I clearly remember one of the threads on GS go crazy with all the posts...it went from 1 to 200 in like a minute...I'm fairly certain it was the Wiki...but nothing's ever 100% sure...

I don't think so...I clearly remember one of the threads on GS go crazy with all the posts...it went from 1 to 200 in like a minute...I'm fairly certain it was the Wiki...but nothing's ever 100% sure...

Actually those Wikipedia moderators are some fast ones. I edited a page and within seconds I was edited and then banned. Not saying this would work for small changes but for the outrageous ones, they get caught very quickly.

The part about the OT was pretty funny. The mod part was kind of funny, if not a bit crude.
I have to do a project on some guy no ones ever heard of, and i got a lot of info on him from wikipedia. Also my english teacher encourages us to use it.
