Not the matter the outcome, we all know the realwinners are really the consumers.

I think Amazon doing trade-ins is a little inconvenient, but if the other two offer some decent trade-in values that'd be great.

Probably not for a while. I think many, and I know I, are more likely to buy games when going through them physically, seeing the availability and variety. And, I just enjoy being in EB, looking around the beautiful game space.

This. Collecting and perusing older games is an art. Its like antiquing for gamers. And this belongs in GGD,not off-topic.

Within 30 years, GameStop is going out of business. Digital distribution is going to be the way to go soon. As consoles start to get bigger and bigger hard drives, you'll see them just release games over the internet, much like they're doing on the PC. Eventually, you won't be able to return games, which is one of GameStop's big money making points.

GameStop will lose tons of money, because it is not possible to have a retailer buy used games for less than GameStop. People will get more money selling used games elsewhere, but GameStop's used games will most likely still be the cheapest to buy, so it might not affect them TOO much.

I always take credit. I get more that way, and I know I'll always end up using it for another game or accessory.

100% agreed. They tried to give me 35 cents for a used Lego Star Wars that looked brand new. >__> But I got a great copy of Halo for $5, so I'd still go there to buy used stuff.

i dont think it will affect Gamestop a whole lot, most people would rather take a game to the store for trade rather than send it in, also the other stores on the list may not even be in the same town as a Gamestop. The closest town from where i live to get to a game store is an hour away (Gamestop) the other stores on that list i havent even seen one around here not with in an hour away anyway

Gamefly is also starting up a trade in deals.

Honestly I don't know why anyone goes to Gamestop, the dudes behind the counter can be jerks, and the prices are almost always bad.

I always hear bad stories about Gamestop employees (being rude, etc) but the guys who work at my Gamestop are great. I only go there once every month or two but they still always remember me. They are always helpful, being pro-active to help me out. As far as trade in prices go, I get pretty much the same amount for trade ins that I would selling my games on ebay. Plus, it's a lot quicker.

I haven't been in the Gamestop here for a long time, but I remember the people there also being nice and helpful. I made a video on how Gamestop cheats you out of money, and there are a lot of gamers on youtube who disagree for some reason.

GameStop pays very little for used games. I tend to just hold on to mine rather than getting 5$ for a game I paid $60 for the month before

i think in the next ~15 years they will be out of business because of all of the games going digital. trade ins will stop and things like that. PC gaming is already doing that because of things like steam and direct 2 drive. i noticed that PC section at gamestop has become way small. there is only one little shelf compared to the 360, wii, ps3, DS, PSP, used ps2 and xbox games. atleast my gamestop that i go to are like that. i hate trading in games because they rip people off big time. i know that is how gamestop gets money but atleast give me more 10-15 difference compared to new game. they give u like $15 for a new game then bring it up to $55. there is no point in that because after taxes and things it will be like $57 for a used game that could have spent the extra 3 to 4 dollars on a new game.

What Gamestop do you go to? The one I go to has pretty women and nice people. They even remembered that I have to be 18 to buy a rated M game. They're like a family away from my family.

Competition is always great for the consumer. GameStop will have no choice but to shell out more money for buybacks.
