Recently I have been watching her acoustic performances and even though I still think she isn't great I am starting to kinda like her songs. Not the generic pop ones but one she sings them live they sound pretty good. There are tons of better female singers around but I respect Gaga for being weird as hell even if it seems a bit desperate at times. We have so many pop stars come and go, so i wonder will Lady Gaga last? I think people may get a bit tired of her bizarre fashion eventually but I can see her lasting a good few years. Whether you like her or not, the real question is how long will she last?

Not as quick as I'd like, but I expect the general public to have forgotten about her almost completely in two or three years.

And to be somewhat on topic, yeah, I definitely think she has staying power. Just the evolution from the first album to the second is enough to prove that to me, and the fact that she is genuinely talented in both songwriting and performing, I'd say she will be around for a good long while, much to my pleasure.

I want to see her do something different with her talents. Isn't she a classically trained pianist or something? Maybe she should do a piano based album. That would be more interesting to me.

And I see that as a high likelihood... she's only been in the limelight for what, 2 years? Her first album released in August of 2008... give her some time...

For me she faded after her first song, that was poker face? We are referring to that Lady Gaga because people are talking about her and comparing her to hugely influencual people in music? But to be honest, she was half naked and trying to sing as differently as she could, with her crazy lines! But really see nothing special about her and sure she will fade in time, no disrespect to her fans, ofc.. :)

Maybe she will become a recluse for years and live in a cave then emerge as a hybird of human, bat, and lizard to fight crime. Then before spontaneously combusting at a Phil Collins tribute concert she will reform Flock of Seagulls for no apparent reason.

I think she has potential. I doubt she will ever become a favorite of mine since there are always great female singer songwriters around but I would like to see her branch out musically. I think she could do well.

I hope she stays around for at least a few more albums. She's actually a really good singer and performer. Seeing her live was a great experience. I'll be seeing her in concert next month, so I'm pretty jacked up for it.

She's got more depth than her peers. I'd certainly like to think she's got enough genuine creativity in her to go the long hall. "The Fame Monster" turned out pretty good, so she's not a one hit wonder or anything. If you watch some interviews - she realizes that she's got a long way to go. She knows that she has yet to earn the comparisons with 'the greats' that some are drawing. She's going to do everything she can to improve upon her past work and stay 'relevant',, so we'll see - either way this should be interesting.

She will last for a decent amount of time. It will not be all in the limelight, however, more like how Britney Spears keeps popping in and out. Slowly making her way back to the trailer park.

Its hard to predict these days, a decade or two back she would have been here for the duration but with the short attention span of the general populous and the fact they love to suddenly flip their opinions she may be disappearing by next year :?. Still that's the fanbase she has chosen so whatever happens is her own doing :P.

yes, i believe she will last for far longer than people expect her to.

she's unique and talented, and the industry needs such pop artists.

let's just expect the public reacts accordingly

I think she'll probably remain relevant and "catchy" for a few more years, regardless of what she does. I don't think she'll have much staying power after that, though. I think she has SOME talent, but I don't think that she has proven to be talented enough to keep people interested for a decade or for several generations. People keep talking about her as if she's the next Beatles, Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Madonna, etc. Like or hate those artists, it doesn't matter - they had and have staying power, even though most of those people are dead and/or broken up. She could prove herself to be talented enough to keep up with the times and to cater to future generations. I don't know. I don't think anyone can predict that. I don't think even she can predict that. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Personally, I can't stand her music. I think it's just catchy radio garbage, and I think that her costumes are lame and overdone. She doesn't interest me at all, but I can't deny that she's popular. Whatever she's doing seems to be working...for now. I could see it going either way. I could see her failing after a year or two, or I could see her staying on top for many, many years. Again, I guess we'll see.

Like I said before, if she doesn't change her game up, and move away from the generic pop music she's been putting out already, I see her fading in a couple of years like most pop stars.

Lady Gaga has a whole decade ahead of her just because of the amount of threads created about her. On topic, I think she still has a long way to go before she's forgotten. I would love an album that's piano based, maybe Queen influenced. That would be awesome.

her hype has "died" since the Grammy Awards if you havent noticed outside of GS... The whole hype that she was going to perform first , something people were going to talk about for a long time, and it was to be epic, just failed. Elton John, seriously :| . Instead the night went to Pink's performance and Michael Jackson's kids.
