Most religions don't cost money.
I dunno...many a times I've been told to give money here or there for church. Or when they pass the plate around...I'm just saying....And even if thats the case, it doesnt make your intolerant behaviour anymore accepatable.
They're asking for a donation not a membership, and I'm against all organized religion so it's not that I'm any harsher on scientology then I would catholicism.
fair enough. Im just saying that people really need to chill with scientologists. Whats worse is that hatred towards scientologists is actually socially accepted. What's the difference between hating a person for their religious views and hating a person for the color of their skin?
Not to provide an excuse, but Scientology has been proven to "buy" certain cops and have them perform tasks on or off duty. If someone protests them and they find out who that person is, they have someone dig dirt up on that person, and/or protest his/her home. People have been arrested and detained for no other reason than for speaking out against Scientology.
They charge their followers thousands of dollars just so they can stay in the church. They basically enslave their children to million year contracts in SeaOrg, a legal slave labour workforce. There's mounting evidence and convictions for murders on the Church's behalf. They caused the biggest security breach in US history.
I don't care about Scientology, I care about people who were born into it and feel trapped, people who have had their life savings milked out of them only to then be thrown away. I don't think people should have to pay over a million dollars to continue to learn its "data". It should be readily available at little or no cost. Instead, they milk money from people and use it to buy police, to buy towns, to buy people and to buy an amazingly efficient and aggressive legal team.
