despite the fact that I didnt like the movie, I think it was definately one of his better performances.

he was also good in Ali.

Also, despite the corniness and genre of the film, he was perfect for Men In Black...I know, I know...not what you think when you think "acting ability". But the fact is that certain roles are meant for certain people, and Will Smith fit extremely well there.

*oh yea and Pursuit of Happiness...didnt see the whole thing, but what I did see I liked. I especially enjoyed the job interview scene, where he had on his dirty clothes and just got out of jail and told the interviewers bluntly what had happened to him

I seem to recall Enemy of the state was watchable, I really don't rate Will Smith highly as an actor though and he was even less entertaining to watch in I am Legend than Tom Hanks in Castaway :|.

.. Which is sad too it had to be that movie.. If it weren't for Will Smith, the movie would have been garbage.. Hollywood couldn't help themselves with creating superhuman hairless mutants instead of anything remotely close to the actual book or other older movies.
