Will the iPhone ever accept other phone service providers?

From what I understand, they only accept AT&T unless you get one that's unlocked which is very expensive.

Is there a chance they will ever allow iPhone owners to use other phone service providers? I currently use Sprint because the plan I have with them is a lot cheaper than any other provider and the service with them is excellent.

I really want an iPhone, but I don't want to pay for AT&T.

No, like most apple products, there will be as minimal customization as possible in how the iphone works

Yes you can but you have to get the phone fully unlocked.

You can do a software unlock when you jailbreak your iPhone.

There's a possibility, but AT&T usues a different kind of network or some kind of technology that other companies don't.

don't think it works with sprint since they also use cdma...t-mobile is the only one would work if unlocked since they use gsm as wellmike4realz

And I'm pretty sure Engadget reported that the Iphone will be coming to Verizon.

no because iphone is gsm so only at&t and rogers have it north amercia unless u jailbreak it then u can use t-mobile
