Will you be celebrating chinese new year in about 2 weeks?

I'll probably go over to my local china town with a friend or 2 and watch the dragon dances. Somethings people do on chinese new year is..have a big dinner, red envelopes with cash, hang signs on their doors and walls, pray depending on religion. Of course you don't have to be chinese or asian to celebrate it, people of any culture celebrate christmas, thanksgiving, martin luther king jr day, etc. So how will you celebrate this day? or will you just let it pass by like nothing.

I use to love chinese new year, when I had a chinese gf, it was a lot of fun, her whole family got together. those were the days haha

Yeah going to have a family get together on the 13th that's about it. I imagine it would be a whole lot more festive over in CA

It is probably one of the handful of holidays where I don't mind going to crowded places... spending Chinese New Year where it is celebrated is definitely something else

I'll eat the traditional foods, bring oranges and cookies to friends and family, and get some red envelopes. =D
