Recently got win3.1 running on DOSBox. It is the first time I have ever used it (grew up on win95/98), so it was really cool to see the first. It seems so...simple. Like a small child from a JRPG, it has no idea that it will grow up to be the most hated operating system ever made. It just works as a shell over DOS, putting a couple graphics on the screen. Anyone else out here have memories/experience? Am I weird for thinking a OS is cute?
I never had a home computer that used it as its operating system, but I remember way back when seeing it on the computers in my mom's workplace. It definitely is pretty darn quaint nowadays. :P
I never had it on a home computer, we had 95. Much like gabu though, I remember seeing it at my parents workplace and thinking how technologically advanced they were.
I never got a chance to use 3.1...at least I don't think so. We used some crappy DOS computers back when I was in kindergarden, but I'm not sure what that was. My first computer was Windows 98.
