With so many good bands out today....

becasue of girls like the ones at our school, who put out to anyone who gives them a compliment.

so many of them like the band because they are "hot" imo some of them only like the band because more of the "popular" girls at school listen to them. Most of the guys at our school don't like them or don't listen to them because they want toimo though when i hear there songs it just reminds me of some idiot guy who is conceided

Because they're marketed so goddamn much that it's impossible to be unaware of their existence, and a great deal of people seem inclined to follow along with the hype. They sell their image, it's obvious with their most recent album. I tried to get into their music a while ago, but it just sounds way too gimmicky to me. Hell, I could be wrong, but that's how it seems to me man. I just choose to ignore it, I'm not jumping on a musical elitist bandwagon or anything, they're just not my style.

Yeah, I do know what emo is. I like some of the old stuff like Fugazi and Rites of Spring. I hate all this new crap though.

I don't see why everyone hates Fallout Boy. I don't exactly listen to them, but that's no reason for me to say they're bad, I'm sure there's plenty of people out there who like FOB_Crim_

There are people, but I personally dont see it, I just dont dig the sound, but people have their reasons, i guess ill never understand.

yeah, my gf asked me what kind of music i liked....i didn't have a name for the genre, because well....i couln't think of one. We were at a dance last week......they didn't play a single half decent song until 2 1/2 hours in. it was a 3 hour dance.

It would be unfair to categorise all off the pop music like FOB into one genre "emo" is a very abused word today. Pop music would be a moreapprobate genre for them.
