I'm glad our 'justice' system actually got one thing right; even if it did take them a few tries.

It's not the first time this sort of thing has happen and it sure won't be the last. She must have known the consequences of her actions would lead to this surely? Why did the court dismiss the case instead of the police?

Definitely. There are so many stories about two people having apparent consenting sex and then the female attempts to pass it off as rape or assault and what not. 'tis one of the reasons that having casual sex with people you don't really know is, apart from the risk of STDs, so dangerous.

Yes, I know, a girl tried something similar with me... she was married, her husband found out, so she tried saying I drugged her, etc. I had to go talk to the police, thankfully she had tried to do this to another guy as well, and I had witnesses that were there, and it basically came down to if she woke up and felt drugged then why did she stay the whole next day and leave only when I had to go to work that night. I haven't dare be with a girl since

It wasn't even someone HE talked to....She made up a description and someone thought he fit the description given and then they brought him in and put him in a line-up after which She picked him out. So it could be someone you've never even met or even seen giving a description that just happens to fit you and then you end up being accused of whatever. It was so STUPID in that case that it said that the case was only dropped after SHE dropped the accusation...That's just ********! The court couldn't figure it out after the evidence was presented?! After he first came into court with a ******* backbrace?! She should've gotten more time in jail as far as I'm concerned....she should've received assault charges for his broken arm and attempted murder since he attempted suicide...both of which were effects of her accusation. But if he's smart he can sue the **** out of her for "defamation of character" and false accusations.

"Her false accusation led to Phillip Young being charged with rape, despite his protestations that his horrific injuries from an accident meant the attack was impossible. He went on to receive death threats, was assaulted and eventually attempted suicide."

All I have to say is, give her life.

It make's you wonder.. How did he end up in the line up? Were the police looking around for suspects and they saw him. "THERE! THERE! THAT CRIPPLED GUY!! He's a likely suspect." Why not just arrest a blind man in a wheelchair?

WAIT WAIT WAIT....She only got 18 months? Surely the judge could have given her a more stiffer sentence, if the prosecutor was smart. They should have given her maximum of everything. She basically ruined this mans life forever. Rape will always be linked to him...even though he is innocent.

So will wrongfully  accused. It's one thing to be aquited. That just means there wasn't enough or any evidence to prove him guilty. It would be hearsay, but wrongfully  accused proves he didn't do it.

I agree they should put her in jail longer, but appearantly they don't have enough room to keep her there longer than her sentence. She has it worse than him. She will forever be known as the jerk that sent a crippled man to jail for raping her when in reality he never touched her. She will never live that down nor will her children.

Didn't they want some tangible or irrefutable proof? If she never met the guy and he never physically touched her it should have been evident. The truth always defeats fantasy because the truth actually happened while lies are just made up. People forget lies, because it's just fantastic babble. So eventually her stories would no longer sync. Lies are full of mistakes and contradictions because you only recall what actually happened. A lie is just a fabrication and since it never happened you don't fully recall the details. There is nothing to recall. It's embellishment. That's the entire purpose of cross examination. Someone is lying and over time that person will not recall their own bullcrap.

I guess they don't care for semen nor DNA samples to prove he was where she claimed he raped her. That's what DNA testing is for. Everywhere you go you leave hair and skin. So if they find your hair and skin somewhere they know you were there. If they didn't find any fresh DNA there that means he wasn't there. If they don't locate any semen in her, any of his semen at the supposed location or a condom with his semen at the location or nearby then it never happened. If the cloths  she was wearing while he supposedly raped her don't have any of his hair or skin sample on them then he wasn't within her proximity.

In the U.S if a rape isn't reported with a few days they can't really prove anything. They figure he bathed and washed his cloths by then. And the victim did as well. They still investigate, but if they don't find anything it will be one HUGE hearsay case.
