What's to worry about? You get time off of school/work, you get "happytime candy" and if anything goes wrong you get lots of money. And if you clean the teeth afterward you can make a sweet neklace

Shouldn't be too bad. I was put under to have them all removed. I went sleep in the chair and woke up in my bed with gaus in my mouth. Little pain, but it was gone within 2 days.

I'm not sure what its like being awake for the process (I got put under for mine) but I do know the first 48 hours after is the worst. Keep the pain killers handy.

Good luck. It's really not all that bad. I had all four removed at once a couple of summers ago. You'll feel kind of uncomfortable for a few days, but it's not that horrible.

If they are all fully exposed, then it won't be bad, if they aren't exposed at all, then it won't be bad, if any are "partly exposed" then the worst that will happen is that you're going to have a tender spot for a week, but other than that, you'll be fine.

I actually had fun getting them taken out, the stuff they use to sedate you is AWESOME!

I still need to get my last one taken out. Too bad I might not have health insurance soon and it might be a procedure I can't afford.

I got an infection and it kind of sucked but my doc told me I had a low chance of getting a dry socket since it is more common in females.

i got mine taken out at Camp Foster, Okinawa while on deployment. All I got was 800mg of ibuprofen and about 20 (seriously) Novocaine shots. For me, the dentist put shattered the tooth (all four) by putting extreme pressure on them and then sucked out the fragments. He even had to prop his leg on my chest (they gave me a chest pad) so he could get enough leverage to put enough on the tooth for it to shatter. It's sounds horrible but honestly...I felt nothing painful. One hour, all four teeth were done and I was walking out of the office. Wasn't bad at all....for me at least.

All 4?!? How are you going to eat after that!

A friend of mine got all 4 removed and couldn't eat anything hot/hard for like 3 days.

I got my wisdom teeth removed 2 at a time. It's great because I can eat anything on one side without infecting the other. I would highly recommend doing this.

By the way, the extraction itself is nothing to be worried about. You can't feel anything and it's real quick. The needle hurt a bit, but if you only get one side extracted it'll be done in no time.

i was able to eat hot stuff...mainly soup for the 3-5 days after I got all four taken out. You can actually eat anything at all...just gotta make sure whatever you eat stays out of the sockets cause dry socket HURTS LIKE A MOFO. It's really not that bad and better to go ahead and get it done with imo. Plus it's cheaper because your not paying for 2 visits.

I was allowed to eat anything after the second day,I just had to clean the sockets out with this turky baster/squirt gun type thing.

lol yeah, I had the same thing, it was crooked at the end, but yeah my 'program' was: no straw, I could eat whatever after the second day, and, I used the syringe thingy to clean out the sockets. I heard you can still get dry sockets like, a month later though, so I didn't use a straw for quite a while.

I used a straw at the movies and smoked the next day... but other than that I took good care of my wounds.

why do people take out their wisdom teethnonsoville2

People have them taken out because for most people, they come in crooked and push against the other teeth causing extreme pain. But some people have them come in straight, like my dad he still has all of his.

One of mine was at a 30 degree angle (so more horizontal than vertical) and I had it cracked and taken out in 2 parts. The other bottom one was also hard to take out, but not as bad as the first one. My teeth in the top were fast, 5 seconds each.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out in the middle of January, so I still remember the pain. The terrible angled one I mentioned caused my left side of my face to swell WAY beyond what is normal, or known as "chipmunk cheeks." It took exactly 16 days for my face to return to normal.

ack, I just saw the dentist a few days ago and he said I need to have one of my wisdom teeth pulled, luckily just one. I'm terrified of the dentist though  I'd probably have a heart attack if he said I needed all four taken out.

The only thing I didn't like about getting the wisdeom teeth out was the stinky breath, keep those strips on you, you'll need'em. I had two types of pain pills, Ibupofren and Tyenol 3, and they work fine. :D Make sure you keep it clean so you don't get dry socket!

I had four pulled at once. By the last one the anasthetic was starting to wear off so that wasn't cool, but the drugs afterwards were good!

I've had a few operations in my days so it doesn't bug me that much. The worst part is the stiches afterwards. They don't hurt but they're really annoying.
