Work on Christmas

Alright so I picked up my schedule today from work (I work at a movie theater) to find I have an 8 hour shift Christmas day.

This is horrible! It ruins my Christmas day plans...I need Jack Bauer, or Jack and Jill, or Jack Skelington, or some variation of a Jack to save my Christmas!

Anyways, does anyone else share this similar Catastrophee? If so where do you work and how bad of news is this for you?

And if you don't have to work on Christmas day, what if you did? How would you feel?

I went to college for 8 years and got a Doctorate Degree so I could sell popcorn and handle food!

And don't get me started on the years it spent for me to study for the impossible to fail food handlers card test!

I get to work on Christmas as well..

i work christmas, but its not really a big deal..
first i get double time for the work i put in..
second, its not that busy
third, the people you work with will be looking to have a good time on a festive day. so have some fun
fourth, you get to meet all the nice jews and muslims who are out on a regular thursday afternoon...

go to work.. have a great time with your fellow employees (even your boss wont be an ass if you have a little fun on christmas day) then go home and have agreat time with your family...
the only day i make sure i get off is new years day... all the alcohol and staying up till 3am doesnt mesh well with the whole working aspect of life.

fortunately my place of business is closed for me at xmas, well technically the health care world never closes, but our department closes 2pm xmas eve so no work until the 29th december. yay.

Well Christmas is the only day of the year I actually see my family xD but I work until 1:30 AM and start at 5:30
