I wouldn't call Sunshine a "plot twist". I actually enjoyed it. I think the "twist" in High Tension was just pathetic. It completely ruined the movie. That twist is incredibly overused. sammyjenkis898
I still really liked Sunshine, but the way they introduced the new aspect of the film with the guy attacking everyone seemed kinda random. I agree with High tension, that was just silly and full of plot holes. Still a pretty good film but the end is just weird.
Hancock. It was on the cover, on the commercials, on everything! lolII-FBIsniper-IIYep
Signs. It was pretty terrifying aside from the water thing... Okay, maybe just the birthday scene. jaydough? I saw nothing wrong with that...

The house scene in the beginning was really well done.I think Sunshine was the one that dissapointed me that most, the plot twist that turned the film into pretty much a slasher made me sigh out loud. I loved the film and would give it a 9 maybe even a 9.5, but the plot twist changed the score into about a 8.Film-GuyI found it to make no sense. The first half was great. same with 28 days later - started off great - turned into zombie slasher.

That film had a twist? I thought it was just a really weird plot near the end. I didnt hate the film, Ron Perlman was good as usual. You do not know bad sequels until you see crap like Bad news bears 3 or Caddyshack 2.

I considered the Queen giving live birth to the Human/Alien hybrid a twist. I liked the film, the end was off but overall I thought it was well done but it just sucks compared to Alien and Aliens ha.
I think Sunshine was the one that dissapointed me that most, the plot twist that turned the film into pretty much a slasher made me sigh out loud. I am in the minority who actually liked the twist with the military, made the film more interesting and it showed an interesting contrast between human and monster and how the two are not that different.

You're not really in the minority. Most people really like 28 days later as a whole. The Village anyone?gobo212What's with the hate for Shamalan? (sp?) I love all of his movies besides The Happening.

What about Alien 3:P
It was alright. I have all of the Alien/Predator films and the spin offs so I watched them all over the past couple days and in my opinion, it goes this way- Aliens Alien Predator Alien 3 Predator 2 Alien Vs Predator Alien Vs Predator: Reqium Alien: RessurectionI found it to make no sense. yeah I liked the military and how they were going to do "not nice things" but the "ramboness" of the end I didn't like.edit: ie the main guy turning into John McClain from Die hard!

Hmm. There's a movie where people escape to an island away from all these horrible creatures, only to await more horrible creatures! The credits roll after this. Real cheesy movie. Can't remember the name of it but remember one scene where a guy does not have any ammo in his gun, so he has to die painfully (eaten by a creature).Thorpe89I remember that movie. They actually start off on an ocean liner, a luxary cruise, I think, and theres a monster that has tentacles and takes all the passngers and skins them and mushes them up in a room. Three of them escape and then they hear the monster on the island they swam to after blowing the boat up.
I'd imagine the hate-on for Shyamalan is because he tends to get decent stories put together, and then demolishes them with a really crappy twist. I mean, if all his movies are based on the idea that there's a twist to them, the twist will be anticipated, and people will be looking for it early on. In films like The Village, it was incredibly easy to tell the twist early on. In Signs, the twist was just ridiculous and anticlimactic, much like Unbreakable's twist. Good enough movies without Shyamalan's reputation, but he ruins his movies before anyone sees them, and that's depressing.LockedgeThat "twist" in The Village was minor. You're forgetting the real twist
About where they live.
It wasnt really ramboness, it was supposed to show that all humans have a brutal and violent side that makes them act like the infected, like when selena confuses jim for one of the infected.
Signs. It was pretty terrifying aside from the water thing... Okay, maybe just the birthday scene. jaydough:lol: That reminds me, The Happening. The movie was stupid to begin with, but just when you thought it couldn't get any worse *BAM*.

Good enough movies without Shyamalan's reputation, but he ruins his movies before anyone sees them, and that's depressing. Well that is why The Happening sucked so much. There was no twist, the movie ended making no sense and being as pointless as when it began. The twist in the happening
was that it wasn't just something in the air, the planet/plants/trees/w.e was actually attacking the people and it wasn't just some scientific mystery
Well, I'll admit I saw the trailer beforehand so it gave me a glimpse of what the movie would be like. Once the movie established its setting, I just had to put a few pieces together...
... to find out that this wasn't a historically placed area. For instance, the actors in the movie were too good to have accents that shoddy (and Shyamalan isn't George Lucas either, so there's no way their dialogue and accents would be so wooden and fake sounding). Whether it was just me being paranoid about the twist or not, the terrible stereotypical dialogue and accents really helped give it away. I'll admit later on in the movie I started having doubts about the theory, so I'll credit Shyamalan there for trying to trick me, but it just seemed easy and something that Shyamalan would do. Once the "monster" scene hit, with the thing walking around the town while everyone hid, I was pretty convinced. I didn't pinpoint it to a wildlife reserve, but I figured they were just a hidden community of folks in the modern world. Of course, the seemingly anti-religious stance the movie was taking further pushed me to believe it. Without the context of Shyamalan's other movies, I probably would have really enjoyed it but his rep for twists made it predictable.
I agree, I began wondering more and more about how this plot twist was actually possible throughout the movie.
