Never had a problem when I had Windows (I used McAfee).
Now that I'm on Linux, I haven't even thought about it.
On my old, bad system I used Norton, which is definitively the most terrible commercial program ever invented. It gave me very tenuous protection and constantly bothered me with annoying messages that couldn't be turned off. And that was before my subscription expired  I finally decided to scrap Norton and go with the free Avira Antivir, which picked up 10 trojans and worms that Norton completely missed. I started using Avira on my main system, now my laptop, and it has caught everything that has come its way so far.bman784
Haha! Wow.....are you not seeing this? How would you know if it's getting everything? It could be missing stuff just like norton did.
I did back when I had windows. Not since I got Mac OS X though.1stCommando
So basically you can't download and execute all of the programs from unreliable sources, since most stuff is made for Windows. :P
My desktop picture was changed to an ad for anti-spyware and my home page was changed also. Couldn't fix, did reg edits and everything. Eventually formatted drive and re-installed windows.
Or a long time ago a virus was sent out to everyone in my outlook address book. Very embarrasing.

this happened a couple of days ago actually.
i turn on my comp. and as soon as the background comes up it says something about a virus or something, i didnt have time to read it because my comp. shut down. it wouldnt boot all the way up so i had to restore it and download everything over again that was on my comp. before.
My neighbour got a hijacker, didn't know about it, then his 10 year old son came and opened IE, boom, gay porn site. he was never the same after that.foggy666
In what way do you mean, "Not the same?"

Rather poor attempt at humor I'm thinking.
