By successful I mean someone who kept/keeps getting work despite being terrible at it. Also, whoever you pick, please list what you think is their best ( least terrible ) performance.

Isn't that an oxymoron giving that art is subjective. So being successful means you are good.FooIyCoolyYou're misinformed.

Yeah, but The Replacements, Bill & Ted, and Point Break are awesome.
Nick Cage is the worst.

Nicholas Cage doesn't bother me much. He's really good in specific kinds of movies, the problem is that he has little range and somehow agrees to do way too many movies with problems that go WAY beyond lead actor. Movies in which he portrays charachters which are INTENDED to come off as losers? He is EXCELLENT at that.[QUOTE="Branmuffin316"][QUOTE="rocinante_"] this. made the matrix complete sh1t.MrGeezer

Out of all the movies I've seen that she was in, Machette is probably her best. Besides her being a bad actress, she doesn't act like a normal person would or at least with some kind of personality other than horribly exaggerating every emotion out there.
Nick Cage (Adaptation was his best)
Christian Bale (from what I hear, American Psycho was his best)
A few years I would have said Hayden Christiansen, but people wised up.
Ditto Keanu, he's finally fallen out of the spotlight.
Matthew Mcconoughey or however you spell it.
Vin Diesel (he comes and goes)
The RE actress, Michelle Rodriguez iirc
Kate Beckinsale
Megan Fox
Shia LeBoeuf
Adam Sandler (god, please make him stop)
Off the top of my head.

The funny thing is, now that I think about it, I think it really just boils down to one simple thing. He plays losers EXTREMELY well. He is absolutely superb at that. But for monetary reasons, he does a ****load of movies in which he takes on roles that he is illsuited for. I've loved the hell out of his performance in multiple movies. But thinking back, all of the stuff I liked was stuff in which he was portraying a loser. He was a loser in Raising Arizona. He was a loser in Leaving Las Vegas. He was a loser in Adaptation. He was a loser in Lord Of War, and he was a loser in The Weatherman. Not all of those were great movies or anything, but I'd classify all of those movies as examples in which Nicholas Cage's performance fit PERFECTLY with the movie. Please Log In to post.
