i think i would i mean i got to be honest i dont have the greatest job in the world i work at a airport and i could always come back to it when iam done with the military maybe even move uplike be a pilot
but i think i should do something postive in my life and if the terriost attacked again i would defend my country and defend world peace
Join the Marines then, first to fight. The Marines do a majority of the initial fighting and then are backed up by the army who secures the rear areas and provide support. Lol i sound like a recruiter, do what you want.i think i would i mean i got to be honest i dont have the greatest job in the world i work at a airport and i could always come back to it when iam done with the military maybe even move uplike be a pilot

terrorists aren't even a threat to the US. They've only killed about 10,000 people worldwide ever. 300,000 people died in Hiroshima in one second. think about it.mohfrontlineyour facts are so off. you could put the 100,000 Iraqi civilans dead as a result of the Insurgents, their suicide bombs and IED's have killed thousands of civilans. And if you go back in history you will come up with answers in the millions. And Hiroshima killed 70,000 not 300,000. And terrorists are not a threat to the US, how about the nearly 3000 people they killed in the US on 9/11/01 during peactime and unprovoked. The bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were at the end of WW2, it saved perhaps millions of American lives. Rather than having to invade Japan and risk millions of lives we used the most powerful weapon in the world and ended the war in a few days. Hiroshima was mainly a military city most of the civilans had already been pushed out.

Not as many as would be felled by anyone who has gone through the Prestige Ranks 11 times and gets the golden knife.

Also, the firebombings killed more than the nuke.

and those 70,000 died so a million US soldiers and even more Japanese soldiers and civilians would survive.

That's not true at all about the Army. The Army has taken the lead on missions, and the Marines have taken the lead on others. In Iraq, the Army and Marine Corps. went in at essentially the same time. If you want to get technical, Army special forces were probably in before anybody else excluding the small CIA contingent that was in northern Iraq.

It was actually Navy SEALs securing a major oil pipeline going into Iraq, MAABOT it was called.[QUOTE="mohfrontline"]3000 people they killed in the US on 9/11/01 during peactime and unprovoked.UrbanSpartan125
It actually was provoked, we had U.S. troops near Muslim holy lands. We intervened in Middle East politics and invaded an Arab nation. Bill Clinton bombed Libya and had operations in Muslim nations. With all this intervention you can't say that there was no provocative actions, even though there is no adequate reason for loss of American life.

We have US troops all over the world, and no one else seems to go and attack us. We didnt intervene in their politics, You are talking about things that happened in the early 90's as a reason for them attacking the US. They bombed the World Trade Center in 1993, USS Cole in 2000, World Trade Center again in 2001. And We didnt invade any Arab nations we went into Kuwait in 1990 to save Kuwait from Saddam and we were applauded by them. Reagan bombed libya in 86' and that was to get Gadaffi who supported terrorism. No because you can't "defeat" terrorists with an army. Just look at us now.- 1 trillion dollars later for the most advanced army on earth and we are still "fighting" these terrorists who have no army, navy, and airforce. I think it would be pretty pointless to join.hoolaExcept we are winning, and deaths are down 80%. Why do you think Iraq is not a main story now, because we are doing better and a majority of the fighting has calmed down.

It was actually Navy SEALs securing a major oil pipeline going into Iraq, MAABOT it was called. Well Navy isnt the Marines is it? Also the Army's Special forces were in western Iraq before the SEALs secured that pipeline. You seem very misinformed on this issue, and it seems like you would defend the Marines to the very end in any situation. You need to stop focusing on one branch of service and realize that EVERY single branch does their part, and each and every branch is all part of one giant TEAM. The Army and Marines both have seen their fair share of front line, "First to Fight" action. World War 2 is a good example, the Army was on the front lines all throughout the European theatre, they were victorious without the presence of the Marine Corps in Europe. Now this isn't to say that the Marines didn't do anything in WW2, they did quite a bit. In no way am i trying to bash the integrity of what the USMC did in WW2, but they only fought in the pacific, and the Army was right up there with them in the Pacific, taking casualties right along with them, working together as a single TEAM and both cooperating with each other to accomplish the same basic mission. Bottom line what im trying to say is that you should stop thinking that the Marines are so high above all the other branches of service. Each one is respectable, does their part, and does it damn well. No branch is better than the other because every single branch is designed for a specific purpose, and when all these different specializations are COMBINED, they create one of the best fighting forces the world has ever seen, better known as the US Military...[QUOTE="-D3MO-"]attack again?SaintBlaze

But what are the chances that 15 people can take over 3 jets...u know if even the slightest thing goes wrong on a flight...the airtraffic control is alerted...and communication is made to see what the problem is..if no responce, the AirForce is sent to intercept the flight...this has been a standard for a while...I know becaues I have family in the aviation industry.
Now if you want to believe that 2 planes, can go off course, and people inside the plane wouldn't retaliate..then go ahead...I mean it is what the official report states...hahaha

Where in that post did i say the Marines were so high and mighty, infact i said nothing about the marines in that post. I above others understand how the US military works as a team, and how each branch is integral to an operation. I never said the Marines were above other forces. Different types of people are in the Army than in the Marines, many of the people join the Army to get a college signing bonus and have no real interest in the military, although there are others who go into knowing what they can get into. The Marines dont have much of a signing bonus, and the training is tougher therefore many people dont want to go into it. Some are people that are trying to avoid jail, others just straightening out. I never bashed the Army or said any service was better than another. They each have a different role to play in the big picture. And the Army wasn't involved in the Pacific, It was the Navy and Marines in the Pacific while the rest of the Navy and the Army were in the European theatrePlease Log In to post.
