I mean I know we are people, but do you consider yourself as a higher, more intellagent formed animal?

Simalarities: We eat, we poop, we give birth, we nurse, we comunicate and we are warm blooded

Differences: ????????????

What are your oppinions on the subject.

Yes, we are animals. Our intelligence doesn't change that.

Not on the same scale as other animals, by far, but I suppose if you want to be technical about it.

I'm not sure if there's anything to "consider", really; we are animals, and someone who thinks otherwise is, well, wrong.

This. Despite our intelligence we still behave like animals, and undergo many of the same physiological processes other animals( or at least mammals) undergo

We are animals but at the same time we have the ability to have rational thought. To form complex ideas and to plan in a way that animals cannot. We also have much more complex emotional patterns.

I consider humans to be different in kind--not just in degree--from animals. I'm answering that question from a philosophical and religious perspective, not a biological one.

No he's not contradicting himself, obviously not. He's clearly referencing a difference in degree: Some animals are more intelligent than others; humans happen to be the most intelligent animal. There's no contraction in the part you highlighted.

If you say two things are the same, and then that the first is more than the second that's a contradiction. Our intelligence put's us on a higher level.

If you say two things are the same, and then that the first is more than the second that's a contradiction. Our intelligence put's us on a higher level. Agent-Zero

The term "same" here is qualified by context. Obviously he's not saying that humans and all animals are identical. (If that were the case, you wouldn't even need to highlight the phrase "We just happent to be more intelligent." You could simply highlight "We are all the same," thenpoint out that turtles and squirrels are different.) The sameness he's describing is that animals and humans are of an animal nature. The difference in intelligence does not alter this, in his opinion. If you disagree with this, then argue away, but don't read someone's post just for the sake of implying contradictions that are easily explained.

I agree animals are humans. Only we are the smartest. Our intelligence dwarfs other animals, which makes us unique and in many ways superior. And yes it is from Game of Thrones.

We are basically similar, but nature is a wreckless, violent, and disorderly thing. With effort, we have the potential to be much more than animals.

Yes, we are.

Humans are mammals, mammals are animals. Humans are great apes, great apes are animals. There is nothing to consider, we are animals.

Some people will say :"But we are different from other animals, we are awesome and smart and logical!!!1111!!!!111!!1!!". Just because we are different doesn't mean we are not animals. Bats are the only mammals that can fly, are they not animals because they are different ?

Of course we are animals. We are driven by the same biological imperatives as any other creature on this planet. Just because we have the capacity to wonder why are do what we do, does not make us any less bound to our own instinct.

We are part animal and part divine. We have the same basic needs and instincts as other mammals, but we are endowed by God with intelligence and problem-solving skills that are far beyond even the most intelligent animal.

Are you kidding? Animals kill each other over territory and mating rights all the time.
