If some mysterious being appeared in front of you and gave you a choice would you be a human...or something greater...

A cyborg wouldn't necessarily have any way to naturally expire. That sounds pretty awesome to me.

Then again, who knows what knowledge an alien race could hold? It's a close one, but I'm still going to have to go with cyborg.

I got the impression that all of my friends would treat me like a demigod. I mean, how cool would it be to be friends with one of the first true cyborgs?

But then again, most of my friends could be described as nerdy, like myself.;)

Haha, I can see that happening. Still, I'd say the advantages would outweight the disadvantages.

Being any form of animal would get boring fast, and we can be an alien if we want by simply (yeah maybe not that simple) going to another planet. :P

When it comes to cybernetic enhancements it can only be an improvement really. Personally, I'd rather stay a pure organic human other being part machine for simple preference, but some people don't really care for that, and thus only revel in the positives it would provide.
