Would you be open to LGBT characters in gaming?

I can't think of a single gay main character in all of videogaming. Seems like in this day and age we would have had one by now.

Of course.

Sure. The King of All Cosmos from the Katamari series is as fabulous as they come-- he couldn't be more flamboyant if he tried. He's a cool character because his voice sounds like turntable scratches and his nonsensical rants are funny.

Sure. Why not? But lots of games are now "create your own roll", so you can make your character straight or gay Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Fable, etc.

It depends on how the protagonist acts. If he's like some other games I play where the orientation makes no difference, I'm okay with it. If the character is pushing his gayness into every scene, than I wouldn't really enjoy it.Mr_Cumberdale

I don't care about a character's sexual orientation as long as they're not blatantly implemented as some viral statement or in a manner that takes away from the game.

There is literally no reason why it should bother anybody, so yes I'm open.

as long as it's important to the story in some way I'd be fine with it, but if there is no real purpose behind it and it's just being shoehorned in for the heck of it I'd be against it. I feel that way about most anything in video games.

there already a couple games that do this. valkyria chronicles had a gay soldier (he was actually one of my favorites and a kick ass tank buster) persona 4 did about as well as were going to get when it comes to LGBT charecter with kanji and to a lesser extent naoto...

(and yes kanji is gay its expressed more openly in the japanese version of the game but he is indeed gay)
