so you and your friend are the only ones alive in the whole planet and NOTHING is edible... so do you think you could eat your best friend?

If he is the only food left in the world then I would rather die sooner with my best friend than by eating him and living a couple of more days.

If there is absolutely nothing else to eat besides your friend and you decide to eat your friend then right after you have finished eating every edible part of him you would be left all alone to die. And since now there is no food left you are in the exact situation as before only now there is no food at all. You basically killed your best friend to save yourself for an extra week or two at best.
