Would you fight (and die) to protect a loved one ?

OK say if a loved one has been kidnapped and you have to go and rescue him/her, would you do it ?

Before you answer remember that the mission will be extremely difficult and you have to go through alot physically to get to you're loved one and there is a 85% chance you will die, would you still go or would you live with the guilt that you did absolutely nothing to help ?

Also that loved one can be anything; a girlfriend/boyfriend, family member, pet etc.

I'd even do it for a friend. The stress of not doing anything would cause me to override and I'd just need to do something, like hurt whoever has them.

I'd prefer to die, to live with the though that i abandoned her, while she was expecting me.

Knowing that I did something for them.I die, but they live, there are a lot of people I know that I would do this for.They would be quite sad, but If I didnt what would happen to them? I wouldnt be able to live with myself knowing something bad could happen to them.
